I love this thing! I have friends who've had KitchenAid mixers for years and they've always raved about their quality and durability. Well, I finally went for it and I have absolutely no regrets. You want to talk about a solid piece of kitchen machinery? This is the epitome of what "Made in America" used to mean! Unlike all the cheapo mixers out there, I'm completely confident that this thing will even outlast ME! The only problem is now I'm wondering why I waited so long!
-----> This may help some of you - I read a review somewhere in which the reviewer gave this mixer a poor rating because it left dry ingredients in the bottom of the bowl - read the instruction booklet, people. It clearly states that if this occurs (or if the attachments scrape the bowl), there is an adjustment screw that raises or lowers the mixing assembly. I had to slightly lower mine and it now incorporates everything into the mix. The KitchenAid mixers are well worth the money....or you can keep buying junk mixers every couple years...the choice is yours.

The first model weighed 69 lbs.
Each unit is still assembled by hand in Greenville, Ohio.
The mixer is one of the only consumer appliances trademarked specifically for its unique shape.
The company was acquired by Whirlpool Corporation in 1986.

Just made dinner rolls with it last night. Only thing I have to do is get use to how quickly I get through things. I am a big fan. This was a begged-for birthday present and I continue to thank my family for it after these past few months. Of course, they don't seem to mind the output.
Really, being a gear-head kind of guy, I really cannot get any play-time with this "toy" because it just does its job so well. Example being the dough for last night's dinner rolls was done in just about two seconds after wet was poured into the dry ingredients. (defined as dough ball, with nothing on side walls of big bowl).
I would HIGHLY recommend this very processor to anyone, and the accessory storage is very nice. Cleanup is a breeze.
Oh, and lastly, it is truly quiet (but, again, you don't have it running too very long to begin with)

I have had this machine now for over three years. I always thought that I made a decent espresso and latte. After trying many different coffee blend, I have stuck with Peets coffee Arabian Mocha Sanani. I had some inconsistency with pulling shots but overall had been pleased.
I also thought that I was making some decent foamed milk.
Well all has changed. I recently noticed that steamed milk from latte bars had a creamier texture and flavor. I had a hard time recreating that with skin milk.
I have now improved my technique and it makes a world of a difference.
1. Leave machine on for at least 30m
2. Keep your milk cold
3. make sure you run the espresso part on prior to pulling shots (surfing)
4. Run your steamer prior to foaming milk.
5. Throw away your steaming wand (black part).
6. After flushing your steamer, place the pitcher at an angle with the wand just under the surface. You should get a rolling circular movement (whirlpool). This is critical. You must get this movement. Remember, your goal is to get micro foam, not giant bubbles. If your steamer seems anemic, stop and flush out by pressing the hot water button then wait a few seconds and start again.
7. Make sure you are ready to pull your shots. When the steaming part is done (temp 150-160), flush your espresso, wipe and then pull your shot.
8. Mean while, clean your wand, and start to tap and gently turn the pitcher in a circular motion. You should see shiny sheen to your milk.
It that simple, Now days I can't believe I was missing out on such great lattes. My wife can not believe that my milk is skim. She swears that i am using whole milk!!!
Try it. Don't give up.

The food processor was very easy to use as well as easy to clean up! We feel like we made a great purchase.
Pros: Very strong 600 watt electric motor, Easy to use, Durable.
Cons: May not be large enough for family cooking

- Cuisinart-foodprocessorsI purchased the Cuisinart 7 Quart because I wanted the extra capacity - simply that. I find that its power is adequate for all tasks, and no matter what the speed setting, it "knows" to ramp up to that speed slowly (so as not to produce a cloud of flour or other ingredients with the potential to scatter), something only possible with the advent of newer electronic controllers. The bowl is deep and well designed.
