ShowCase - Spirals Anklet or Bracelet

A Simply Elegant or Simply Casual

The first real design I came up with was this simple "Spirals Anklet" design - And it was published as a project in Step By Step Bead Magazine summer 2008...

ShowCase - Fans Bracelet

A very elegant design. It reminds me of the 1930's glitz & glamour.

The Orange and Gold are great for Springtime!

This particular bracelet is no longer available, however, I am always making something new - keep checking in.

ShowCase - Fans Necklace and Earrings

Another of my favorites...

ShowCase - Serpentine Bracelet

I was wondering what "Fans" would look like if the double half-hitches were oriented differently...and "Serpentine" was born.

ShowCase - Waves Bracelet

Another Simply Elegant Design...

Another simple but elegant design is "Waves". Primarily made of Square Knots and plenty of beads, this design is an opportunity to play with color themes. One of my favorites is "Amber Waves" shown here in the photo.

By changing the beads used in the "waves" part of the pattern, a completely different look can be achieved as shown in the photo in the introduction above. I had a lot of fun with those.

ShowCase - Victorian Lace Earrings and Bracelet

Using primarily Lark's Head knots, this motif reminds me of "Victorian Lace".

ShowCase - Diamonds Jewelry Set

One of my favorites to wear and to make.

ShowCase - Tapestry Bracelet

Going off in a Whole New Direction

Results of playing with some ideas that flashed through my mind one night as I was trying to fall asleep.

One of my favorites, this bracelet reminds me of a tapestry. A beaded tapestry. .

ShowCase - Arrow Bracelet

Although based on my "Diamonds" pattern, this design is a bit more intricate, and so it is recommended for intermediate beaders/knotters.

I love the intricacy and texture of this one. It is a lot of fun to make as well..

ShowCase - Criss Cross Bracelet

Fun and Flirty!

ShowCase - New Angle Bracelet

Simple and full of possibilities.

ShowCase - Lattice Bracelet and Earrings

Lattice is one of my earlier designs. I wanted to use some bugle beads and this is what I came up with. I like the open "lattice" effect of this design. It gives it an airy feel. I do plan to one day write up the pattern for this one.

Book Review - Micro-Macrame: 30 Beaded Designs for Jewelry Using Crystals and Cords

Great new book on making micro macrame jewelry.

Micro-Macrame: 30 Beaded Designs for Jewelry Using Crystals and Cords

Amazon Price: $9.30 (as of 05/27/2012)Buy Now
List Price: $19.95
Used Price: $10.74

I first encountered the author (Annika deGroot) through her blog "Annika's Atelier" (www.annikaatelier.blogspot.com) right after I started my own blog on micro macrame. She makes all kinds of beautiful things (not just micro macrame). We corresponded a bit back and forth over the next couple of years, checking into each other's blogs upon occasion. I found her to be a delightful and talented woman.

Recently, she contacted me to review her new book. I accepted right away and she sent me an advance copy.

At first glance, I fell in love. What a lovely book with 30 projects in varying degrees of difficulty and a wide variety of projects - from bracelets to ornaments, from victorian to deco - Something for everyone!

Then, this past weekend, I had a chance to delve deeper. You know, try one of the projects to see how the instructions worked out. (And, yes, I could not wait to make one of her designs for my own personal use!)

I made the "Stained Glass Bracelet" without too much trouble.

I had one question which she answered right away and said that anyone buying her book could contact her through her website (www.annikadegroot.com) or her blog (www.annikaatelier.blogspot.com) and she would be happy to answer any questions.

I really cannot say enough about this book. It has beautiful photos, is well written and would provide anyone (beginner or expert) with plenty of projects and inspiration for quite some time...and isn't that really what it is all about?

Usually ships in 1-2 business days

Beading and Movies

Like Peanut Butter and Jelly!

I love to bead to a good movie, just give me my iced tea and I am happy for hours. Lucky for me I have NetFlix.

So, I decided to write a few reviews and put them in another lens Beading With Netflix.
