What do you want to know?
- Kris Allen's birth date is June 21, 1985. Kris turned 24 a month and a day following his win on American Idol.
- Kris is from Arkansas, born in Jacksonville. His parents live in Maumelle.
- Kris was a business major at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) in Conway, Arkansas.
- Kris has been married to Katy since September 26, 2008.
- Kris is a Christian and is (was) worship leader at his church in Maumelle,as well as at the Chi Alpha campus ministry at UCA.
- Kris taught himself to play guitar at age 13. He also plays piano, ukulele, and viola.

Early commentary about Kris as the new American Idol seems to indicate a lack of confidence in his talent and his ability to become a star, especially in relation to Adam Lambert. Adam was thought to be the obvious Idol, but those who voted proved their devotion to Kris Allen, and Adam Lambert came in second. I wasn't even thinking he was making enough of a splash as an American Idol until the final weeks, I was thinking it was going to be a different top 3 at first. But then he really blew me away when he did his first song in the finally against Adam Lambert. I thought he totally destroyed Adam with the emotional content and delivery of his first song. This was going to be a true battle. And Chris definitely stole round One. Adam did come back in round Two but the strength of Chris round One song was so powerful I still felt I should vote for Chris. I waited for round three but they were both about even on that one and the round One song really stood out enough to make me believe he was going to be a much more powerful artist so I had to give it to him. If he continues along that path he should do well. It all comes down to who he hooks up with on production though and what direction he decides to go down.
