Finally, this chewing habit almost killed my Rex. We had to rush him in for an emergency surgery for stomach and intestinal blockage from chewed up blankets and bedding. He had almost chewed up one bed too many. The vet recommended that I try a Kuranda dog bed. He said they worked well for dogs that have a chewing problem. The bed has worked out great! I purchased the aluminum Kuranda dog bed (or you can also get the poly-resin Kuranda dog bed) with the ballistic nylon fabric from allpetfurniture. As I mentioned before, I've had the bed for over a year now and it is still in tip top condition. I can't say that Rex hasn't tried to chew on the bed, but there's just nothing for him to clamp down on. The dog bed fabric doesn't have any signs of stress or sagging. I'm a very happy Kuranda dog bed owner.
I can not praise allpetfurniture or the Kuranda dog bed highly enough. The service I received from the company was superb.I was kind of reluctant to spend so much money on a dog bed with Rex's bed history. I had spent a lot of money on beds that would last less than a week, but I didn't want anymore emergency trips to the vet either.
So I contacted allpetfurniture with some questions and concerns before I made my purchase. They were quick and courteous to respond.
All I can say is that I couldn't be happier with my purchase of my Kuranda dog bed. Definitely money well spent. I found out there's a 1 year chew proof guarantee. I also asked if there were replacement mats in case Rex chewed through his. They told me there are, but they've never had to replace a mat so far.

We have two dogs -- a 75 pound Boxer and a 35 pound mutt. The mutt is a 1-year old rescued little girl who can chew rocks into dust. She has destroyed two other beds and various other items that she has found, but the two Kuranda beds are still undamaged. We've had one for a couple of months. Just bought the one at first to see if it would survive her. When it did, we got the second one for our Boxer. We keep them on our patio for their outdoor use. They work like a charm and both dogs love them!

This is the best pet bed product I have found. My dogs use to always tear up pillow beds, but this bed is indestructible. I only bought one the first time, but all 3 of my large dogs are trying to share one bed, so I am buying more. It is easy to clean and does not hold odors like cotton beds.

We have had these beds for our dogs for over ten years and they are still like new; when was the last time you could say that about a dog bed?!!
In the summer they are great to use in the garage, where the dog can stay cool yet be up off the hard floor. We also keep them on the deck.
They clean up easily; I just put some mild soap on a cleaning brush, scrub to clean then hose off.
