Energy saving tips

Most of the carbon dioxide emissions come from energy we use every day. By saving energy we can all help fight climate change. There are lots of simple things we can do to save energy right now. By bringing energy saving into every aspect of your life, you can make a real difference. Below are the tips on saving energy.

Off the lights and unused electronic device
Always turn off the lights and electronic device (TV, video player, stereo, computers, and peripherals) when you leave a room. This can save a lot of energy for your house and it is the easiest way to save the energy.

Always go for full load
Wash your cloth when your washing machine is fully loaded. If you're not filling up the washing machine, tumble dryer or dishwasher, use the half-load or economy program.

Set Computers to Sleep and Hibernate
Enable the "sleep mode" feature on your computer, allowing it to use less power during periods of inactivity. Configure your computer to "hibernate" automatically after 30 minutes or so of inactivity. The "hibernate mode" turns the computer off in a way that doesn't require you to reload everything when you switch it back on. Allowing your computer to hibernate saves energy and is more time-efficient than shutting down and restarting your computer from scratch.

Use less Water
In the bathroom, skip the water-wasting steam bath and opt for the quick shower. Install low flow showerheads and faucet aerators, and turn the water off when you're shaving or brushing.

Take Control of Temperature
Lower your heater thermostat down 1-2 degrees in the winter and consider a programmable thermostat that helps keep the house warm only when someone is home. Insulate your water heater and turn down the temperature to 120 ° F (49 ° C)

Refrigerators

Energy saving light bulbs
It uses less energy than the ordinary light bulbs, and it has longer lifespan (up to 10 times) compare to ordinary light bulbs. More...

Washing machine
