An in depth review of all this sucker can do!

The LG 32LH20 is one of LG's newest televisions for 2009. My review here is just a quick explanation of the features of this new LCD HDtv and what they do.

First off, the 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio enables you to see the TV clearly from off angles up to a 178 degree angle. When dealing with large get-togethers, this is practically a necessity. Whether it's you and the guys watching the super bowl, or the entire family watching a holiday special on Christmas Eve, this feature is a must. Just whatever you do, don't hand the four-year-old the remote!

Like many of the newer televisions, the new set from LG also has a built-in HDTV tuner, which allows you to watch high-definition broadcasts from an antenna capable of picking up such channels(which most of the newer ones do). No need for cable or satellite dishes, just hook it up to your antennae and you get high-definition TV for free! Failing that, you can still watch all of the digital channels without any further modification.

The monitor's 6 ms response time ensures the smoothest transitions between frames. The LG 32LH20 has a 24p Real Cinema Mode with 2:2 pulldown, which allows you to reproduce movies as they are viewed in theaters by making the images just as natural and life-like as on the big screens. Heck, you're already watching it on the big screens! To complement this, there are also 3 color temperature modes and 3 A/V modes, allowing you to adjust your LG 32lH20 for movies, sports and games.

This HDtv also has a feature that allows you to preset the different channels in one mode so that you can quickly alternate between them. Extremely useful when you can't decide on which game to watch, and can't but help watch all of them at once!

The LG 32LH20 also features an excellent 30,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and has a very high brightness rating. This allows you to be immersed so much in what you're watching that you actually think you're there! And though the default setting are immaculate, you can manipulate the brightness and contrast to suit your own personal tastes. The clarity on the 32LH20 HDtv is unparalleled, the pictures looking as clear and crisp as they'll ever be.

For display, ultra-slim LG 32LH20 can be mounted on your wall, thus saving load of space, or it can be kept on its original stand. It also has 2 HDMI inputs for connecting your HD-capable gadgets, such as blu-ray players and gaming consoles. Another awesome feature that LG puts into their newer televisions is the ability to connect a computer to your HDTV. Think about how awesome Crysis or Fallout 3 would look on that!

The built-in audio of the LG 32LH20 is very well designed, if not impressive. The manual of the LG 32LH20 shows that there is a built-in 20 watt, 2-way speaker system, which guarantees that you will always have the best sound effects. Of course, hooking it up to your surround- sound getup multiplies your experience ten fold! The LG Hdtv also has a built-in feature that adjusts to compensate for Volume fluctuations between channels, programs, and commercials. If that's not good enough, the "Clear Voice II" technology makes sure that dialogues are intelligible and easy to hear. You can even understand people speaking when the background noise would otherwise cancel it out on any other television.

Other features included in the LG 32LH20 HDtv are SimpLink functionality and the "Smart Energy Saving" package from LG, which introduces new and more efficient methods to conserve power, slicing out a notable chunk in your electric bill. Do you realize how much electricity people are paying for on their televisions these days?!

The LG 32LH20 is built to give you more value for your money than most of its competitors, while still retaining the classic features of LG, which by itself guarantees a good buy. Just because it's new, I give the LG 32 LCD HDtv 32LH20 a 4 out of 5. Otherwise, it'd be a full on 5.

The most popular review from Amazon.com:

By E. Baker (Tustin, CA)

I've had my new LG for a week and I'm thrilled with it. We bought this T.V. to replace an older 19" CRT for the den, where my wife and I end up watching T.V. in the evenings because the kids are doing homework or entertaining in the room with the big HDTV. The picture is so crisp, and the colors so vibrant, that I find myself looking for excuses to turn it on and watch it. I'm afraid to admit it, but I may actually prefer my new 32" LG to my 60" Sony! I liked the swivel base, so I was choosing between this set and a Samsung at the same price point. The pictures were very, very similar in quality, but I chose the LG because it was a newer model than the Samsung, and the Samsung was really at the low end of the Samsung line, while this LG is more in the middle of the LG line. The picture was great out of the box, although the T.V. is packed with features allowing you to tune and tweak the picture settings to your heart's content. I'm also very happy I didn't spend more money for a 1080p set. At 32" the 720p resolution looks awesome, so I can spend that extra $150 on something else. Add to all the above the fact that the set looks fabulous sitting in its cabinet, and you have a great value. Thanks LG!

And another review, just for your convenience:

By Veggie Grower (Dallas, GA United States)

This TV deserves another 5 star rating! It's perfect for our bedroom. The picture and sound were great on standard settings right out of the box, although it has several alternate pre-sets and infinitely tweakable custom settings. The big menu is very intuitive but it also has a quick menu that pops up in the lower right corner for quick changes to common things. The remote is small and has well spaced, easy to use buttons.

I wanted a solidly built TV with decent sound and my wife wanted no clutter and simple operation. This one is all black, no "bling" but has enough features and connections so we could use it for more than a standalone TV. The "invisible speaker system" is pure genius and gives a surprisingly full sound without needing a speaker system and amp (no clutter). More importantly (to me since I'm a bit hard of hearing), the clear voice and auto sound leveling (quiet parts automatically turned up while commercials don't come out blaring) both work well. It's one of those "set and forget" things. Here are more pictures and specs: [...]
A technophile could hash over the finer points and compare this to others in its class, but as far as I'm concerned: it's a new model, has a clear, bright picture, the faces and landscapes all look realistic, and it has great sound, so how much better can it get? Of course the news and some commercials are still way over the top with color saturation and contrast, but that's not the TV's fault.

6ave get's five stars too. I'd never heard of them until I saw this item, but 2 minutes on their website convinced me they were organized and reputable. It came wrapped in a second box with foam peanuts all around it to prevent shock. The order was placed on Sunday and it arrived Wednesday morning in perfect condition. They are in the same league with NewEgg, B&H Photo and BuyDig. Also UPS called us to make sure someone was home to sign for it.

One last thing... the manual power switch and all the other side controls/connectors are on the right side out of view, and that little bump on the bottom frame (on the right) is a subtle status indicator light that glows red or blue. The main jacks are all on the rear left (as you would face the screen) and it has a built in wire guide that can help keep a few wires neater.

Overall we are both very, very pleased and now we are planning on replacing our big rear projection box with a sleek LCD TV, probably a bigger version of this one.

So get off the Samsung bandwagon and get this one before they sellout. Nothing against Samsung at all, but some marketing genius has stolen the attention from other well engineered new TVs available on Amazon.
