I am a God fearing, military wife, stay at home (schooling) mom, to six silly kids ages 2 to 14. I love to read, sew, bake, recycle, and bargain hunt.

Three years ago my husband was injured during a deployment. We spent the next two years moving and going from doctor to doctor in hope of restoring his (and our) lives back to normal. We thought his military career of 19 years might be over. In fact, even the doctors gave us little hope for a full recovery. Thankfully, I believe in miracles and am happy to report that since the summer of 2008 he has been completely healed. After months of therapy, a variety of medications, and lots of prayer he is once again able to drive, read, work, and live a normal life. Well, as normal as life can be living in a houseful of kids. We are excitedly expecting baby #7 in April of 2009.

In the summer of 2007 we heard about a man named Dave Ramsey. We quickly read his books and became committed to living a debt free life. On October 26, 2007 we called the Dave Ramsey show and screamed, "We're Debt Free!" on the radio. It was a milestone moment in our lives. We continue to live a debt free life and hope to help others do the same.

Feel free to read along about the story of my life, ups and downs, my quest to save more money, eat healthier, get organized, and raise my kids to the Glory of God.

Believe it or not, I save sooo much money at Target on their seasonal clearance items. I love to buy gifts for the kids on Our Prayer List and buying clearance items makes this possible for me to do. My favorite time to hit their sales is Christmas, Easter, July 4th, School Supplies, & Summer Items. These sections go on clearance for up to 90% off. I just buy the stuff and store it until the next holiday in Rubbermaid containers & WOW do I save a LOT OF MONEY! We buy the notebooks that are $1.00 for 10 for $.10 when they go on 90% clearance. We send these to our Missionaries overseas, and also use them at Christmas to give children school supplies that need them.

Ollie's Bargain Outlet is the Mid-Atlantic's largest retailer of closeout, surplus and salvage merchandise. Our 48 "semi-lovely" stores sell merchandise of all descriptions and some beyond description.

You'll find lots of famous brand name goods in every department, like housewares from Rubbermaid, Mirro, Ekco and Anchor Hocking. Toys and sporting goods from Igloo, Coleman and Mattel.

Ollie's buyers scour the world looking for closeouts, overruns, package changes, manufacturer refurbs and irregulars.

Much of the merchandise comes direct from the finest manufacturers in the country and abroad. For instance, if a manufacturer makes too much of an item, or changes their packaging - Ollie's will buy the discontinued or overstock items.
