Good News: La Lakers Freeze Ticket Prices For 2009-2010 season
he Los Angeles Lakers announced Monday they will leave ticket prices unchanged for the 2009-2010 season, the fourth Southern California professional team to either freeze or cut prices.
"With the current state of the economy, we feel that increasing ticket prices for the upcoming season would add to the financial burden that most families and individuals are suffering at this time,'' Lakers Executive Vice President of Business Operations Jeanie Buss said.
"We are determined not only to continue fielding a team that enjoys a high level of success on the court, but also to keeping our games affordable for our loyal fans, who are the heart and soul of the team.
"Although we are freezing prices for the upcoming season, rest assured that we will continue to do whatever is necessary to bring another NBA championship to Los Angeles.
Laker ticket prices will remain at $90, $115, $155, $220 and $260 for lower bowl seats and $10, $35 and $45 for upper bowl seats.
The Los Angeles Dodgers announced this month they were freezing ticket prices for the 2009 season, while the Los Angeles Galaxy announced an average 10 percent reduction in ticket prices, because of David Beckham's reduced role with the Major League Soccer team and the economic downturn.
The Anaheim Ducks announced last month they will freeze all ticket, parking, food and beverage prices for the 2009-2010 season.
