La Jolla: A Beautiful Pacific Coast City

La Jolla: A Great California City

La Jolla is an lovely oceanfront city that has several miles of curving coastline along the Pacific Ocean. Although it is a part of metropolitan San Diego, it has a small town atmosphere to it and is a distinct community of its own.

La Jolla has a rugged coastline of ocean bluffs and great beaches. Those who live there enjoy lovely weather all year and ocean activities of course are very popular.

With many gated developments and expensive estate homes, it is one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in San Diego, home to some of the USA's wealthiest people.

La Jolla in Spanish means "the jewel" which I think is a perfect name for this lovely community just a short drive from downtown San Diego. I hope you enjoy learning about this great city.

I worked at the University of California San Diego for 3 years and loved every minute of working and living there. The campus is on the cliffs above the village of La Jolla, I don't know if you count that part as La Jolla or not as it maybe outside the original boundaries, but there are some great things to talk about in "Greater" La Jolla too, Loved the lens, feel really homesick for both "higher" and "lower" La Jolla after reading your lens. Thanks!
