Landscape Photography
I'm a passionate and professional landscape, seascape, surf and wave photographer based in Perth, Western Australia. I started taking Australian Landscape Photographs approximately 2yrs ago and it's been a fantastic journey. I started out in the Fashion, Glamour and Portrait Photography world which was really exciting and fun but something kept drawing me to Landscape Photography. If I wasn't in the studio then I was out and about capturing images of Mother Earth, slowly but surely I was spending more time outdoors than I was in the studio. These days it's a rarity for me to be in the studio and I would spend nearly all my time outdoors either looking for new spots to photograph or capturing spots that are old favourites of mine.
Currently I'm focusing very heavily on Australian Seascapes and I'm experimenting with wave and surf photography as well.
So what makes Australian Landscape and Seascape photography so much fun for me?
1) It certainly keeps you fit. There is hardly an outing where I don't have to walk through sand, climb over rocks or walk up steep hills.
2) Its relaxing, most of the time you are alone in an absolutely beautiful spot.
3) Its exciting when you nail the 'perfect' photograph of the area that you've been trying to capture for years.
4) Its rewarding when you get to share your work with others.
Of course heaps of people are always wondering how they can improve their photography and are always asking for landscape photography tips. There are a number of ways of doing this but the best way is to get out and about and just practice. I've also listed a couple of Scott Kelby's books below that have really helped me out with my photography and the way that I use Photoshop on them afterwards. I wouldn't be where I am today without them.
Good luck and get out there and capture this great world of ours. You might just get that great shot.
