Laura Knaperek was an Arizona State legislator for 10 years. She represented both districts 27 and 17, where she served cities including Tempe, Chandler, Ahwatukee and portions of Chandler.In addition to serving in the legislature, Laura chaired the House Appropriations Committee and the Joint Legislative Budget Committee. She also sponsored legislation to increase educational and work-related opportunities for the disabled in Arizona.

Family is very important to Laura, and her record clearly reflects her commitment to families and children. Laura and her husband reside in Tempe, Arizona, where they have raised six children. Laura and her husband Bob also have eight grandchildren.
