Did you know Laurieann Gibson trained with the Alvin Ailey Dance Company?! Laurieann is new to "So You Think You Can Dance" (SYTYCD). Season 5 was her first season choreographing for the show. She choreographed the top two boys' routine for the finale, which I really loved. I think she adds a hard hitting hip hop type of dance and it will be exciting to see what she does on upcoming seasons of SYTYCD. She is best known for being the choreographer for the MTV hit series "Making The Band".
This lens is part of a series including the choreographers from the Fox Reality Show SYTYCD. I'm a huge dance fan, and addicted to Reality TV. I've really admired the choreography on the show and for the first five seasons before I started creating lenses about SYTYCD, I wondered, "Where did these great choreographers come from?"
So the purpose of this series of lenses is to provide a short biography of each choreographer, and to remind you of their work on the show.

Laurieann Gibson is a choreographer and creative director best known for her work on MTV's Making the Band series. She was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, and later became a "Fly Girl" on In Living Color. Laurieann Gibson started her career by training at the prestigious Alvin Ailey dance company. She later moved on to choreograph many acts for Bad Boy Records. She choreographed the film Honey, and has worked with artists such as Diddy, Danity Kane, JoJo, Lady Gaga, Corbin Bleu, Brandy, Day26, Jordin Sparks, Esmee Denters, The Clique Girlz,Lax Gurlz, and directors such as Bille Woodruff. On February 06, 2008, Laurie Ann Gibson debuted the music video to her single "Addictive".
