When your child begins to grow, simply add the legs. For those who need a little extra help, the Learn and Groove Table has handy Grooves to aid in standing up. While there are several other manufactures of tables that look like the LeapFrog Learn and Groove, this is the only one that is bilingual. The Learn and Groove, speaks in both English and Spanish. The choice is made by use of a simple switch. This is great, since it is never to early to start teaching a second language.
The top of the table has several interactive buttons and levers that your inquisitive child will spend hours investigating. There are several musical instruments on the top that not only teach music but have added lessons. There is a trombone with a working slide that counts to 10 as the slide is moved up and down. There is also a cello that teaches the concept of up and down, as its slider is moved. Piano keys improve your child's motor skills, while at the same time playing melodies. Turning pages in the book in the center of the top causes the operational mode of the table to change from Learning Mode to Musical Mode where kids can hear more than 40 songs and melodies including nursery rhymes and individual instrument sounds that will have them singing and dancing. Combine this with blinking lights and your child will be entertained and educated for several hours.

So now that we know what the Leapfrog Learn and Groove Musical Table is, let's talk about what your child learns from it.

Knowing the letters of the alphabet is one of the first steps toward learning to read and write. Introducing letters to young children helps them learn to recognize the different shapes and names - an early indicator for reading achievement.
Children progress from a simple observation of action and reaction (spin the wheel to hear music) to a deeper understanding of cause and effect (germs make you sick). Cause and effect is important because it signals that a child can perceive hidden or abstract forces on object..
Learning color names and matching them consistently to the right color develops by around the age of 2 to 3 years. When children eventually come to understand the concepts of color they can then use that information to categorize shapes, patterns and other visual information.
Toddlers use their curiosity and logical reasoning skills to solve everyday problems. By investigating all sorts of possibilities, they develop unexpected solutions and creative problem-solving strategies.
From birth, children love music and even prefer it to speech. Apart from the obvious joy of music there are a number of surprising benefits to listening to music: it helps develop language, problem solving skills, memory, and physical coordination.
The development and coordination of small, refined muscle movements allow infants and toddlers to use their thumb and forefinger to grasp small objects, paint and eventually learn to write.
Gross motor development includes the ability to control large muscles, like those used for sitting up and crawling, and later, for walking, running and jumping.
At around the age of 2 children begin to develop self-esteem. Children who feel loved and have their opinions valued have a sense of self worth. It also gives then the confidence to learn, build strong relationships and respect other people.
As early as 6 months, babies begin to understand the concept of numbers, noticing small groups of one, two or three things. As children develop number sense they learn to count by ones, skip count and count backwards, gaining the foundation for operations. Children who have good number sense find learning operations like addition and subtraction much easier.
Who wouldn't want to give their toddler all of these advantages?

Read what parents have to say about this toy!
My son has had this toy since he was 6 months old (He is 17 months now). We recently had to remove the legs from it, as he learned at 11 months to climb on top of it and then onto whatever was nearby, so beware if you have a climber!Otherwise he was very entertained by the many sights and sounds on this toy. I really liked the fact that you can remove the legs. When he was a baby we left the legs off so he could play on the floor with it, and then when he was cruising and walking we could put the legs back on to keep him entertained. There's music and words and things to spin and flip open - so much to keep little hands and ears busy. A good toy for a baby that will last into toddlerhood.
We first saw this at our pediatrician's waiting room. My baby was instantly attracted to all of the buttons and moveable objects. So we bought and could not be happier. It provides so much for them to do. He quickly learned how to switch between the two modes, music and words. The little open/close compartment is great for improving finger dexterity, we put balls, blocks, etc inside that he would then fish out. It was the first toy he would head to when he woke up. He would happily push, pull, and turn things, and dance to the music for half an hour before he moved to the next toy. Pretty much the perfect toy.
My 10-month-old son loves his musical table. Not only does it help him as he learns to stand, he's really interested in the variety of musical buttons and other "gadgets" on the table. We recently had a group of about 10 babies the same age over to play, and the Learn & Groove was the big hit -- they were all fascinated and entertained by this much longer than they were with other toys.
