LeapFrog Tag Review - The Tag Reader is Awesome - Here's Why

The LeapFrog Tag reading system is both fun and educational for kids and a great investment for parents. I read many LeapFrog Tag Reviews before writing my own review of the Tag Reader and everyone one of them was not only positive but talked about how remarkable this gadget really is.

The LeapFrog Tag Reader works with twenty story books and games from LeapFrog and partners like Disney and Pixar. Tag Reader books include SpongeBob SqaurePants, Cars, Disney Princess, Star Wars, The Little Engine That Could and so much more. A great selection for any age or desire. The stories and pictures come alive to talk with real character voices. They sing and dance as the child progresses through the story book. The Tag Reading System engages children's senses to make reading and learning a fun educational experience. It allows children to learn at their own pace, building confidence. Well-loved characters and engaging stories inspire kids to read and develop a lifelong love of reading.
The Tag reading system is not like a video game where your child is immersed in their own world refusing to talk. It's an interactive learning toy that prompts questions and interesting conversations, and it's not annoying with beeping and shooting noises, and electronic music that drives you crazy. It's filled with great music that's real. Highly recommended for road trips and it can be hooked up to headphones as well when you want peace and quiet.
A pen using an optical reader identifies words and symbols on the colorfully printed pages, giving children lots of options. They can pick between starting a story at the beginning and having it read all the way through, playing a page at a time, or reading themselves and using the Tag reader to hear single, words spoken aloud with proper phonics. This last option will inspire your child to try reading books they might otherwise avoid, knowing the Tag reader will always be there to help them with any problem words.
The LeapFrog Tag System has over twenty story books compatible with the Tag reader including many Disney stories such as Disney Princess and Cars storybook. Your child will fall in love with reading these activity storybooks. They won't even realize they are building phonics skills, expanding their vocabulary, and improving their reading comprehension.
For parents the Learning Path can help you keep up with your childs progress. With the LeapFrog connect computer application you can download education information from the Tag Reader to your computer and track your child's reading progress. You can even use it to help customize your child's unique learning experience and more importantly give positive feedback for achieving educational milestones.
Young readers are sure to enjoy the way character voices add drama to their favorite stories, the way touching certain pictures inspires quirky sound effects, and the leveled activities included in LeapFrog Tag story books that make it fun and appropriately challenging for all ages.
The Leapfrog Tag Reading System is so much more than just reading. As a child plays with his books, he explores, takes initiative, and takes responsibility on his own part for the story progressing. Those are abstract, hard to quantify things, and the books are great at bringing them out.
So yes, if you're a parent or grandparent that is not convinced about how "awesome" it really is, I would encourage you to buy the LeapFrog Tag Reading System, and you know what, have confidence, not in the books, but in your very child's budding intelligence and ability to learn while having fun and enjoying themselves thoroughly.
I recommend this because...
Kids will love the Tag Reader for its pure enjoyment and because it helps them to read. Parents will love the Tag Reading system because it is a great learning tool that encourages their child to read. As a side bonus it gives your child hours of fun leaving you time to complete those household tasks like cooking dinner. At least it helps me attend to some chores. Perfect for those long car trips, as well, much better than a DVD.
LeapFrog Tag Question and Answer
Question: What do you think about the Leap Frog reading pen, TAG?
Have you tried the Tag, do your kids like it and does it help teach them to read? I want to get my son this for Christmas but $50 I want to be sure that it is worth it.
Answer: My son just received one for his 3rd birthday (even though it recommends 4+). He loves it! It took us forever to figure out how this pen is so smart. The pages have itty bitty dots that are like little barcodes. So he can switch back and forth from one book to the next and it doesn't miss a beat. The books also teach other aspects of reading, including compound words, letter sounds (th, sh, etc.). This is the most amazing reading system I have ever seen. You also plug the Tag Pen into your computer and it uploads what your child has learned and tells you what part of reading they have learned and if they are practicing skills for their age or above their age, etc. and it keeps track of it, so you just keep plugging it in every week or so. It also says what books they have played with and for how long, etc. My son never gets bored with the Tag Reader, I eventually have to tell him it is time to do something else. One other thing you have to consider is the cost of the Tag Story Books. They run about $12.00 a piece (ask for them for Christmas, that is what I'm doing). I highly recommend this for young children, it really is amazing!
