 You can learn bass

guitar online.  Discover incredibly powerful, easy to learn secrets of how to play bass like Jaco, Cliff Burton, Les Claypool, Flea or Adam Clayton? Yes, it is possible.  Here's how...

Learning how to play bass guitar has always been a goal for many of us and now that goal can be reached with less effort.  Yes, you will need to "woodshed" and practice.  No one learned bass overnight without sore fingers.

As with any other instrument, there are countless books that are supposed to teach bass guitar. Many come with CD's or DVD's but can be hard to follow or are too expensive.

I don't know about you but, in the past, I often got past the first few lessons but then struggle, because I don't understand the technique, can't read the music/tabs or get the beat so I'm stuck and after a few frustrating evenings just give up.

Tips on Tuning Your Bass Guitar - Maintaining Your Strings

String Maintenance - Do It!

I cannot emphasize enough the importance of cleaning your bass after you play.

With all the oils from your fingers and sweat you are sure to kill the life of your strings.

A simple rag will go a long way to extend the life of your bass strings.

Yes, notice I said life? They will lose that bright, sharp sound with time. Just a lot faster if you don't take a minute and clean your strings.

Sometimes you just need to break down and get some new ones. When you do, you'll ask yourself why you didn't do it sooner.

The New Zoom H2 - One Killer Digital Recorder

I was anxious to get my hands on the new Zoom
H2
Handy recorder.

The H4 was one of the most exciting products of the year, setting a new standard for portable digital recorders. With the H2, Zoom has concentrated on the main function of a field recorder - digital stereo recording - along with a re-designed interface that is both simple and flexible at the same time.

Zoom H2
Whether you are recording your band's rehearsal or gig, a songwriting session or a business meeting, the H2 is simplicity personified. Just press record and that's it! An available Auto Gain function works well and users can make adjustments on the fly with the easy-to-access controls located right on the front panel.

As with the H4, the H2 records to SD media and with an optional 4GB card you can record up to 2 hours at 96kHz up to 138 hours - yes, you read that right - in MP3 quality. Even at the MP3 level the audio quality of the H2 is impressive thanks to the four mic capsules that allow multiple recording configurations including 48kHz/24-
