How to Read Music Notes

As a musician, whether you've been playing for days or years, one of the most important skills you can master is learning how to read music notes. Any musician who has been playing for years but didn't learn how to read music until later on will tell you that he or she wishes they would have learned sooner.

That's actually my story. I had played guitar and been a serious vocalist (state competing in highschool!) for over 6 years when I decided I wanted to major in music education or music theory (or it's more advanced cousin "pedagogy" as we serious musicians call it). After I went to school I was quickly thrown into a world of chaos because I could read music! If only I had known sooner! I spent at least my first semester in college, probably closer to the first year, trying to make up for lost time learning to read music. Finally I learned and I'm now on a mission to make sure that this doesn't happen to anyone else. Starting learning how to read music notes today!
