How To Learn to Read Tarot Cards Online

This lens will help you learn how to read the tarot regardless of what deck you use. You can follow our online tarot lessons through videos posted on this lens.

There are 3 ways to learn tarot:

1. Taking tarot lessons with a reputable and experienced tarot card reader
2. Learning yourself through reading a book
3. Picking it up from the various online tarot courses.

By far the best method to Learn Tarot is to take lessons with an experienced reader. In this way your readings will have more depth. If you learn from just reading a book you will only ever be able to read someone's cards at face value from your left brain.

There's much more to reading tarot cards that just the meaning of the cards. How the cards relate to one another in their various spreads and all the various layers of reading. Then there is that extra special something that you might call psychic ability. This is developed when you learn tarot through the right brain creative intuitive side, rather than the left brain intellectual side.

Today with the internet you don't need to physically go anywhere for your lessons. You can do it all at the convenience of your home.

If you would like to use this lens to learn tarot the first thing you will need is a tarot deck that you relate to. Below are our 10 top decks. Our suggestion is to start with the Raider Waite Deck as this is a standard deck that many others are modeled on. Once you have learned that basics of this tarot deck you'll be able to read just about any other deck.
You'll see our videos on how to learn tarot being loaded below also.

Choose Your Tarot Card Deck

As mentioned above, we recommend that you use the Raider Waite deck as your first tarot deck to learn from. Since most other decks have fashioned themselves on this deck it is the best and most stable deck to go with. You are of course free to choose which ever one you want. When doing a reading for someone it is always good to keep a few decks on hand as some symbolism relates better to certain types of questions. However to begin to learn tarot we recommend the Raider Waite. We will be using a number of tarot decks in our online lessons, so whatever deck you choose will be relevant.
