Lebron James has quickly risen to the top as one of the premier players in the NBA. He is a great leader on the court and he helped the USA win the gold medal at the 2008 Olympics. All these things are great, but what I like best about Lebron is his ability to throw down some high flying, powerful dunks.

On this site we will see some of the best videos around of Lebron James Dunking learn more about him in a short biography, and see if there is anything we can do to help us get crazy hops like he has.

A Short Bio on Lebron James Before He Was Dunking

Lebron Raymone James was born in Akron, Ohio on December 30, 1984. His mother, Gloria James, was only 16 at the time. Anthony McClelland, Lebron's father, was an ex-con and was never really a part of his life. So, his mother had to raise him on her own.

Lebron's childhood was a struggle at times. Often times, his mother had trouble finding steady work and she and Lebron moved from apartment to apartment in lower class neighborhoods. However, his mother did the best she could to raise him right and keep him out of trouble that was always nearby in the streets.

Lebron James was dunking at an early age. As an infant, his mother gave Lebron a miniature hoop and ball which kept him entertained for hours each day. When Lebron entered elementary school a few people started to take note of his talents playing basketball and football. He was an excellent athlete and had natural quickness and strength.

In football, Lebron usually played as a receiver. He scored 19 touchdowns in six games in his first year in the Pee Wee League. His coach Frankie Walker, would have a great impact on Lebron's life. As a child, Lebron was never very interested in school. His fourth grade year he missed school regularly and had pretty much dropped out. Once Frankie Walker learned of this he talked with Lebron's mother and they decided that it would be best if Lebron moved in with him.

Lebron stayed with the Walker's for 18 months and Frankie had a positive effect on Lebron's basketball game. Frankie taught Lebron how to shoot both left and right handed which can be a huge advantage. By the eighth grade, Lebron was 6 feet tall and could play all five positions well. Growing up, Lebron became friends and ran around with four other boys Sian Cotton, Dru Joyce, Willie McGee and Romeo Travis. They all loved basketball and had great chemistry together.

Lebron, Joyce, Cotton and McGee decided to attend Saint Vincent - Saint Mary High School. The fab four had an immediate impact on the school's basketball team. They won most of their games easily and by a wide margin. However, they faced a tough opponent and lost by one point to Oak Hill Academy during a tournament in January.

The team quickly rebounded from the loss and were undefeated the rest of the season. When the state tournament arrived they were ready and they blasted through the competiton and won the state title. Word about Lebron had spread quickly, thousands of people were attending his games. James finished his high school career with 2,657 points, 892 rebounds and 523 assists.

In 2003 Lebron James entered the NBA and was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the number one pick. As we all know, he had a VERY positive impact on the team and quickly became the leader. He is consistently a triple double threat. Not only is he a great scorer and passer, but he has greatly improved his defense and was named the to the NBA All Defensive team in the 2008-09 season. His skills have brought him to the top of the NBA and I'm sure we will hear about him for many years to come.
