Lemax collectibles include villages and accessories that are known the world over as a the premier village collectibles available. Founded in 1990 and located in Massachusetts, it has taken the village collectible industry by storm. Some of the best deals can be found on Amazon or Ebay. Christmas villages started in the 1800s and were started by the Pennsylvania Dutch.
This is also known as a putz (I know, you thought it meant something else) which derives from the German verb, putzen which means to decorate or to clean. Usually these putz's were set on a mantle or side tables. Sometimes they were bible scenes. They may have been some of the first nativity scenes.
