Art by Lenora, Louisiana Artist
Note:
I am an artist who lives in Louisiana and visits the Southwest occasionally. My paintings are largely of Louisiana and, uh, the Southwest. Oh, and some still life (incomplete sentence, I know). I suppose I should now talk about how "unique" I am and how I was "always making art as a child." I did make art pretty often, but you're just as unique as I am.
If you like my art, it is not only because of what I've done; it's because of what YOU brought to the art when you viewed it.
But don't worry. I'm not going to go all poetic on you. When I put my hand on the brush or my fingers in the paint (as I often do), the years of skill-building practice remind me that lofty poetic thoughts alone won't translate well on the canvas.
I do hope it translates well to you. If it does, the poetry is coming from you as well as from me.
Louisiana Pasture Under the Moonlight

Louisiana landscapes can be quiet, but sometimes they contain an air of mystery. I hope I captured some of that mystery with this art--a landscape of a Louisiana pasture at twilight. The original is done with acrylic paint. A Apple in the midst of Pears
The Renagade

One of these things is not like the others. Three pears hover behind an apple. I often feel like the apple. When I am in a room full of people who seem to share the same beliefs and knee-jerk reactions, I sometimes wish to slip out. It's hard to hide my true colors. It happens often in the art world.
In all fairness, there are times when I am very much in fellowship with those around me. Maybe I'll make another painting about that.
This piece was done in watercolor about a week ago. In all fairness to pears, I think they are every bit as beautiful and delicious as apples.

I call this piece Surrealistic Perspective with Columns and walls. It is mixed media, using acrylic paint, sand, tissue, paint chips, watercolor pencil, and pen and ink. The paint is all over the piece, strengthening the tissue (which is on the yellow and blue portions of the doorway), Covering the sand (which is also all over the work), giving shape and interest to the yellow chips I used for the wall on the extreme right.
