passionate prison ministry

Sharing my passion and compassion for prison ministry. WHY do I do prison ministry? It all started 12 yrs ago,
when a relative ended up in prison WRONGLY CONVICTED & served 7 years while INNOCENT!!
When something like this hits your family, it compels you to ACT! I wanted to be part of the SOLUTION instead of
just complaining about the problems with the prison system.
WHAT ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT?!

Prison Ministry

Volunteering & Mentoring

I do mentoring at a women's prison each week. Have done so for 12 years. It is my passion! I also correspond with inmates & their families nationwide. I love networking with other prison ministries for helping ex-offenders. And to work to make the prison system a "restorative justice" place instead of just a warehouse.
Transformation must take place in the hearts of prisoners for them to truly be
rehabilitated. Faith in Jesus Christ provides such a change. I have watched Him change many lives as well as my own.
Every church is called by Christ to do prison ministry...will you get involved with those serving time in your area?
Many never receive visits or mail for many years, if you won't personally go into prison to serve. You can visit and
mentor them in faith in Christ by mail. You can change a life for the cost of a postage stamp,,,but...will you?
Partnership is a must in ministry of any kind, but especially in prison ministry work. If you serve in prison ministry let me hear from you.
There is always a need for Bibles;good Christian books; Bible studies if you could donate some to bless prisoners.
If you feel called to minister to prisoners by writing them & inspiring them through cards & letters contact this ministry.
I am very passionate about prison ministry because a relative served 7 years in prison wrongly convicted! When it happens to your own
family suddenly this type work becomes very important to you. If you have never been in prison or do not know anyone who has served time, just
wait, the prison system is a fast growing industry & it is just a matter of time before it hits your circle of influence. Prison ministry is a community issue not just a personal one. Each of us must work to keep our communities safe as well as make sure that the department of
corrections is run correctly & rebuilds lives not just lock them up & throw away the key!
Prison issues are a big topic in the news now, because the system needs reforms & real corrections. Become part of the solution, not just
complain about the problems. Get involved before someone you love lands in prison.

Prison Ministry is very much needed today, the prison system is failing in many areas, everyone should be involved to make it better for all involved. It should be a "house of Correction" not just a warehouse. do you agree?
