Past life experiences
From my earliest childhood I was aware that I was more than just what makes this physical form and a great many of my past life memories - for I have no doubt this is what they are - have been with me for as long as I can recall.
Not everyone believes in life after death and even among those who do, a large proportion believe we only have one lifetime, of those who do acknowledge reincarnaton, a good number are under the impression that we keep coming back until we get things "right".
That is not the case. We "return" because we want to experience what cannot be experienced in our "spiritual" form.

Life-Time Continuum
1. Rain lashes my tearless dignityon the moorside by the windswept gash
where we cut into Rhiannon's breast
to lay you in coarse linen and serenity,
robed with the dark days of a ragged life.
2. In a pillared courtyard we fought,
fountains of reality rippling between us
marbled white and gold your eyes,
veined beauty, perfect Adonis, murder caught
as I drowned into another waking.
3. Astral high I watch my sweet triumph,
trained dedication of a priest-king
by whose shoulders borne, the altar stone,
achievement of ultimate faith,
ascends heaven's steps, apex of my sacrifice.
Still I return to infinity,
recalled to forgetfulness and peace,
dispassionate completion renews me.
In the Universe of my Eternity
I am Feeling remembering Experience.
Regression into past lives
I have never gone through hypnotic regression, all my insights into previous lives - and not all of those memories are encapsulated into the poem above - have come to me spontaneously or have always been there.
The three lives summarised in the poem are probably the strongest of these memories I hold but even as there are other, more recent, lives in my memory, there are glimpses of older lives as well.
Please, people, when a child talks to you about the subject of having lived before, listen to them, don't, as happened to me, tell them they are lying, don't try to make them believe it isn't real. Listen to the child. Is it real for them? Do not deny them their experience.
It is the same when you find a child talking to someone you can't see, do not deny them their experience.
Let me explain something which I truly get frustrated about, you gave birth to the body of the child but although that body was created by you, the soul which inhabits that body from the outset is not your creation.
A beautiful creature has come to spend its time in your care, understand from the outset that the soul of the child may be as old as time, maybe older. Be honoured to have the company of this soul and nourish the beauty which has been given into your care.
Learn from the child and help to guide the soul.

Carrying over
This can be manifest in various ways. Sometimes an irrational fear, sometimes a compulsion to do things in a certain way, it can take a number of guises but normally such carried over "memory" traces are due to a traumatic event in the previous life.
I have even seen children born with an apparent "scar" which defies explanation, for example, a roundish white patch on the front of the chest coupled with a similar patch on the back in a corresponding position as if a bullet or sword had been passed through the body. This may be an indication of the ending of a previous life.
I'm not talking about birth marks here, a wound scar bears no resemblance whatsoever to a birth mark.
But how do you know?
That this is a past life experience and not simply a dream?There is no definitive answer. Even in past life regressions under hypnosis there is no guarantee of authenticity, no way of proving to a third party that the experience is real.
But you, yourself will know. It is too clear to be a dream, too real, you can feel the blood trickle down your forehead and run into your eyes, you can feel the water close over you, you can taste, smell, even touch the experience.
Cultures and Faiths

Born in the wrong body?
In our pure spiritual form we are androgynous, neither male nor female.This is important to remember. In past lives I have been at times male and at other times female in this plane but in spirit form I am neither. Do I choose before I return which I would rather be? I can't answer that for certain but I can say that it is perfectly possible that some number of individuals could carry over from their previous physical existence a strong male or female instinct which could easily see them in the "wrong" body.
There is nothing "wrong" about this. We are what we are and no-one has the right to tell any of us that we are somehow lesser individuals because of our inclinations and tastes.
Rarely, but frequently enough that we are all aware of instances, an individual feels so very strongly that they are in the wrong body that they are enabled to have an operation to change it. Make no mistake, this is not some easy option for a troubled soul. For a few it is the only option they feel they have for happiness and fulfillment.
I could cite instances and name names of some famous and beautiful women who are male on their birth certificates ... but I won't.

- I never used to but now I absolutely do believe in reincarnation. Very much enjoyed reading what you shared here, and it is so true what you say about 'feeling' certain memories. For years I could never understand why I would get a flash of receiving a blow to the head, but have since realised!

- I almost believe. It is the best explanation I have seen to explain why we are here, why people are born into such drastically different circumstances and why some are born with such strong phobias that have no present life origin.

- Fantastic Lens!! I absolutely agree with you when you say right at the start that we reincarnate voluntarily as we cannot grow spiritually without some form of physical experience!! The poetry is wonderful too.....very moving and evocative!! This kind of lens should be at No. 1.

- Cool lens, this topic has always interested me but I havent experienced any strong past life memories myself. My main problem with people who claim to remember past lives is they always claim to have been great warriors, famous historical figures or some kind of royalty - wishful thinking in my books!

- Fascinating. We will not know for sure on this side, but I certainly think the thought of reincarnated life has serious merit! Often I think my brother visits in the form of a hummingbird and my mom as a butterfly.
