Life is good

In 1989, brothers Bert and John Jacobs designed their first tee shirt. For five years they sold tee shirts in the streets of Boston and traveled the East Coast selling to kids on college campuses.

In 1994 inspiration struck. The iconic face of Life is good came from a drawing hanging up on their apartment wall. That was Jake, a happy little stick figure with a big ol' smile who seems to just really enjoy life. One September day they printed up 48 Jake shirts for a local street fair in Cambridge, MA. Halfway through the day all of those shirts were gone.

Soon that little character was introduced to retailers in the area. Then it began to spread across the US.

They later established the Life is good Kids Foundation which helps non profit organizations, such as Project Joy, to support underserved children and those facing unfair challenges. In the past few years, Life is good Festivals have raised and donated over $2 million to non profits benefiting kids in need. Money is raised through the sale of Life is good products, fundraising contests and events, personal donations, and Life is good donations.

I wish I could find a list of all the different sayings. I like the life is good shirts that have unique sayings like Happy Hour, Night Life, and Log Off. I like the ones with Jake and Rocket. I wish there were some place I could find a list of all the ones (even discontinued ones) that have been offered.
