There is no gold in the American Presidents. It is a copper alloy similar to bronze mixrd to look like gold. Just let one wear a lot and it looks like bronze.

Quarters, Pennies, Nickels and Dimes

In answer to your question

With help from Littleton's experts, the answer to your questions are below (questions listed).

Is there anyone who knows what the quarters will look like in 2009/2010

The 2009 Territorial quarter designs have not yet been finalized.

There is currently a bill to begin in 2010, America's Beautiful National Parks Quarter Dollar Coin Act of 2008 (H.R. 6184), which would begin circulation of quarter dollar coins that are emblematic of a national park or other historic site in each State, District of Columbia and each territory of the United States. This bill has not yet passed the Senate, but has passed through the House of Representatives.

And too, what kind of change is there going to be in regards to the Lincoln penny?

In 2009 the obverse will remain the same but there will be 4 different reverse designs issued. Each represents a different aspect of Abraham Lincoln's life. A new design will be issued approximately every 3 months. The 2010 and beyond cents will feature a reverse design emblamatic of President Lincoln's preservation of the United States of America as a single and united country.

Where there any nickels or dimes minted in 1975/1976 that had the drummers on the reverse side?

No, only the quarter, half dollar and dollar coins featured special bicentennial reverse designs in 1976.

What makes the WI quarter a mule (error) coin?

Some 2004-D Wisconsin quarters have one of 2 different die flaws on the reverse, in the shape of an extra leaf on the corn. There is a high-leaf variety and a low-leaf variety. We have not come across or heard of a mule error for this coin.

The Morgan Dollar: Once Superfluous, Now Super-Popular

Ed Reiter

Is there life after death? Those who doubt it ought to consider the case of the Morgan dollar.

The birth of this familiar silver coin in 1878 was greeted with a huge collective yawn by much of the American public. It saw relatively little use during the years it was made by the United States Mint. Thereafter, hundreds of millions were melted or lay idle in storage vaults for decades.

In recent years, however, long after the end of its limited existence as a circulating coin, the Morgan dollar has achieved a vibrant new life - some might even say a measure of immortality - as a collectible. In the last quarter-century, it has become one of hobbyists' favorite U.S. coins... (continue)

Double Eagle Type Collecting

By Paul Green

Collecting $20 double eagles by type is a lot of fun, and very educational as well. Moreover, every time the price of gold goes up, a double eagle type set has a way of looking better and better. This is the denomination that receives the most attention when prices begin rising.

To say that double eagles are historic is an understatement. A very strong case can be made that the United States $20 gold double eagle has its roots in the discovery of gold in California's streams back in the late 1840s... (continue)
