Live Your Road Trip Dream

Live Your Road Trip Dream is more than an inspiring adventure, more than an information-packed "how-to" guide to help you turn your personal travel dream into reality - it is the ultimate handbook to turn your wanderlust into action.

This book is about...

College kids are doing it, young families are doing it, burned-out executives are doing it - and yes, retirees are doing it too. What's it all about?

With terror threats abroad, the dollar getting hammered, air travel becoming so difficult and gas prices soaring everywhere, many vacationers are again looking at the US as a great travel bargain; and taking the all-American road trip is a great way to actually relax and reconnect with nature, family and friends.

Live Your Road Trip Dream is more than an inspiring adventure, more than an information-packed "how-to" guide to help you turn your personal travel dream into reality - it is the ultimate handbook to turn your wanderlust into action. Packed with tips, humor and no-nonsense advice, you'll be packing for your adventure before you know it.

The second edition of this award-winning book is updated with information on budgets, websites and technology, and new sections for the younger crowd, including information on mid-life sabbaticals, working on the road and "road-schooling" your children as you travel.

Carol and Phil White were retirees with a dream: to travel around the country on their own, for a year, without running out of money or energy. They planned, they budgetted, they kissed their children and grandchildren farewell, and they headed out.
This newly revised manual and travelogue tells how they did it, both in practical and human terms. They provide budget plans, recommendations on transportation choices, insights into travel decisions, and suggestions for websites (including their own) which provide more information and tools. The first half of the book provides the planning tools and suggestions; the second is the diary from their own travels.
Anyone interested in long travel, RV use, or travelogues should consider this readable, useful volume.
