What are Local Area Webs?, and are they useful?

The concept has been around for a while, but has not really hit the big time. LAW stands for "Local Area Webs" and follows research that shows people prefer to purchase and deal with organisations and companies in their local area.

Feedback is welcome on this important subject, make your views known.

LAW

Most people use a type of Yellow Pages or Yell to find sources of local information. Is it time to have a local version for every town on the web? Here are possible ideas. Northampton in England, could have a LAW for Kingsthorpe, Billing, etc., or a Town LAW.

As more and more people find the need or pleasure of having an internet connect the need for this type of solution will grow. If you have already created a LAW for your area, please let me know and I may add it to this Squidoo Lens. As everybody concerned with Page Ranking knows, every link is a potentially new customer.

Your chance to vote for this Lens

Vote 1 to 5 Stars for this Lens if you are a Squidoo member

Your chance to pass a comment on this Lens. I do react very well to 5 stars, but also realise you may only think it is worth 3. As a Squidoo member, you know voting is a tradition, and has many benefits, and I like to be liked.

This module only appears with actual data when viewed on a live lens. The favorite and lensroll options will appear on a live lens if the viewer is a member of Squidoo and logged in.
