Lolita fashion vs Gothic fashion
Lolita fashion styles are originated from Japan, basically inspired by children's clothing and elaborate costumes. They were then gradually spread outside of Japan to western countries, with strong following even by older generation.
Its a Japanese craze which started in the 1970's, though it did not gain popularity until the 1990's and 2000's,has it gradually spread outside of Japan to Asia and Western countries.
The original look usually consists of black and white colour scheme often decorated with ribbons and lace. It often aims to imitate the look of Victorian porcelain dolls.
Lolita Fashion has several variations, categories include:
- Gothic Lolita
- Sweet Lolita
- Classical Lolita
- Punk Lolita
- other Lolita styles
Gothic Lolita has spread to the West, with several other lolita styles merging into the main theme. There are now other fashion styles produced, with this Lolita inspired clothing range, as a result of the influence.
