Staying in London - England

The main geographical feature of the city is the River Thames, which meanders through central London dividing the City into Northern and Southern halves. Some will say that South London is where the real vitality of London lies.

The South Bank is home to, what has become, the most famous landmark in London The London Eye. The British Airways London Eye is the worlds highest observation wheel and offers passengers spectacular views of over 55 of Londons most famous landmarks in just 30 minutes.

Next to the eye is County Hall, which for many years was home to the British Government. It now holds many attractions including the London Aquarium, the Saatchi Gallery and Dali Universe. Dali Universe is a relatively new permanent exhibition devoted to the works of Salvador Dali. More than 600 works are on display including the worlds most complete display of Dali sculptures.

Also located on the South Bank is the world famous gallery of modern art, the Tate Modern. Housed in the former Bankside Power Station it displays a famous collection of international modern and contemporary art. Whilst here a visit to Shakespeares Globe Theatre is a must.
