I'm a mystery writer. I'm here to chat about mysteries. Real or fictional, your call. Hope you enjoy my page and will take a look at my mystery series. Writing is a solitary business, so I like to peek into the Internet now and then to see what's going on.
I write the Metropolis Mystery series, where my fictional sheriff, Joe Dalton, solves crimes in the real town of Metropolis, Illinois. Ever seen our famous fifteen foot tall statue of Superman? Check out my web page listed below.
My new series, the Kitty Bloodworth, '57 Chevy series debuts in December. Imagine their surprise when the Bloodworths discover the body of her irritating cousin stuffed in the trunk of their car!
My favorite all time mystery is WE HAVE ALWAYS LIVED IN THE CASTLE by Shirley Jackson. But I have a long list of favorite mystery authors and the links to their websites on on my webpage under "Links". How about you? Who are your favorites?
About writing mysteries
(or when your friends say you have a dark mind)
Did you leave enough clues for the reader without giving away the whole plot? Did you say it was storming outside, then send your character out in light clothing, sans umbrella? Will anybody really want to read what you wrote? Can you write another, and keep the reader coming back? Can you stay away from the fridge when a scene gets tough and you need a break?
Not an easy job, but it's fun if someone says they enjoyed your book. Until it's time to write the next one.
