- You may be able to appeal the restraining order. You also may attempt to set aside the decision by the court via a Motion for Consideration. There has to be good legal grounds for the appeal or the motion. Call us to discuss this in detail. Lastly, the CLETS restraining order cannot be expunged. The restraining order may appear on a background check or on some occasions your credit profile.

- I have a civil harrassment restraining order against me for throwing eggs on someones lawn. I handled the court case poorly and now have a three year order against me. Who will see this and should or can I get this expunged?

- Advise your girlfriend to appear in court and request a dismissal. Even if she agrees to see you, you are still subject to a court order restraining you from doing so. This can result in contempt of civil court, or can be charged as a criminal violation of a restraining order. Be careful about the decisions you make until the court order is dismissed.

- My girlfriend got a restraining order against me, but we ended up getting back together. She called me and we have been together ever since. Does that mean I can keep seeing her without violating the order?
