Review/Recap of FURY

It was a long time ago when I decided that I was getting old for star wars, that I should move on and stop reading silly space novels and grow up. Well, things change as time goes on, and I've now rediscovered that which I once coveted, the wonderful galaxy far, far away. I also discovered that quite a lot had been happening since I was gone, such as the death of the beloved character Chewbaca. The universe has changed, and now the sons and daughters of the heroes of yestergalaxy are now the up and coming leaders, and lords, of society. Jacen Solo, son of Han Solo, has decided to take the path of the Sith, convinced by a protege of Darth Vader that there are different routes to becoming a Dark Lord of the Sith as oppossed to simple tyranny. Throughout the course of the Legacy of the Force series Jacen has become exceedingly dark, and been forced, or chose to, commit many acts that have send him down a twisted slope. But things weren't getting too bad, that is, until book 5, which was....

A touching line of sincerity from the Dark Lord of the Sith:

No, Allana, you don't hate me, you can't, and I'll tell you why... because I'm your father.

Quick Set

Reminding you of all the important events that happened in Fury that are going to affect Revelation

Starting from the beginning and on through to the end.
  • Alema Rar displayed a new Force Power indicating that she can do damage by projecting an image of herself anywhere in the galaxy, and having it interact with others, but if others attempt to hurt her, it will just end up killing someone they love.
  • Luke has gotten it back together, after being confronted by Ben, and they now face Jacen together, as a team.
  • The masters have learned their lesson and next time will come at Jacen in very large numbers, and he will have to find a cunning way to whittle them down.
  • Jaina has it back together now as well. Jag has sided with her in her quest to stop Jacen and he has the lightsaber resistant armor that Boba Fett so graciously lent Han. Zekk also is in this group. Likely enough, this group and the main Jedi army will face Jacen from different directions, and more than likely, this one will have the more direct involvement. It only makes sense from a dramatic emotional standpoint.
  • Jacen has lost possession of Allana, who he not only cared for very much, but was also a sort of barganing chip to be used against Tenel Ka. The Jedi now keep her and believe that the war will be over because of Jacen not owning her anymore.
  • Alema Rar is dead, meaning that all the heat is on Jacen now, and we've seen how he handles heat.
  • There are some political schemes going on involving Corellia and centerpoint station.
  • Jacen failed to capture centerpoint and now is left somewhat defenseless. The next book will likely be a bit in the future and will have created new content, a new plan, that Jacen has formulated and is going to try to implement.
  • Jacen has alienated his crew and scared most of them half to death. His list of allies grows short.
  • The secret is out and everyone knows who Allana is, and who everyone is who's related to her and all that such stuff. Basically, she's in danger, and, well, I have a feeling that she could be used against Jacen, the opposite way, as a bargaining chip, maybe even accidentally, since nobody seems to think that Jacen has a heart. It's definitely not going to end well for Jacen if her life gets put on the line and Jedi stand between him and her.
  • All we know is that Jaina suddenly found a purpose and is heading towards her "teacher". Whoever that is. If you know or have ideas, leave a comment, please.
  • From the preview of Revelation, Ben is dead set convinced that is was Jacen who killed his mother, and he's going to want to hunt Jacen down for that.
