Demi is an inspiration to many teens all over the world...but to be an inspiration, she had to be inspired...Her major influences are Hayley Williams (of the band Paramore), The Jonas Brothers, and former American Idol Kelly Clarkson.Preforming since the age of 5. Demi has written songs based on feelings and past experiances such as "Trash", "Open", "Shadow", and "Stronger"...these song's were released as sort of a "demo" since she was not yet signed with a label. She continues to write inspiring songs such as "Who Will I Be" and "This Is Me" off the Camp Rock Soundtrack. "This Is Me" became such a popular song that she recorded a spanish version.
For those of you who watched the Superbowl (Seahawks and Cowboys game) on Thanksgiving last year, she preformed the National Anthem beautifully.(You can check out the video towards the end of the page).Her solo album "Don't Forget" Features the song "Get Back" and her latest single "La La Land". It's hard to believe that this talented artist was not always the center of attention in school. Like many kids today...Demi was bullied, so bad that she had to be homeschooled.She does still remain homeschooled with such a busy schedule. Through all of this, there was always one person there for her, best friend and former co-star off Barney, Selena Gomez...also known as "Alex Russo" of Disney's Wizards Of Waverly Place.She and her close friend Selena Gomez met when Demi asked her if she wanted to color with her while the two were at the audition for the tv show, Barney. When they were little she and Selena would make Rice Krispy treats almost every day.Yumm!
Demi loves shopping.Her favorite places to get clothing at are Charlotte Russe, Forever 21 and Aldo. She always rock's her outfit, and kicks it up with some stylish boots.Recently on the cover of Seventeen Magazine Prom Edition, she stated that her favorite colors are black and red. Very cool.When she just wants to hang out, you may catch her watching her favorite movie Donnie Darko or maybe even singing a little tune.
Like many of today's teen idols such as The Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez, and Jordin Sparks, Demi wears a purity ring. For those who aren't sure what that is exactly, it's a ring worn to show that sex will wait until marriage.You may have seen her in the "Worth the wait" commercial that aired '06-07 before signing with Disney.But for now, We'll continue to watch Demi continue her journey in her rockin' Boots.
