Jon Lovitz -vs- Andy Dick

At a 1997 Christmas party at Phil Hartman's house, Andy Dick gave Hartman's wife, Brynn, cocaine. Before that night she had been clean for ten years. Five months later Brynn, on cocaine, shoots Phil Hartman, killing him, then kills herself. Lovitz said, "Phil was furious about it - and then five months later he's dead."

Lovitz took over for Hartman on thet sitcom, Newsradio, with Andy Dick (and others). Lovitz says that Andy was whiny and they had arguments on the show. During one of such arguments, Andy said something to the effect of "You shoulden't even be here". To which Lovitz replied "I wouldn't be here now if you hadn't given Brynn that cocaine."

(It's getting good, isn't it?)

They had to continue to work together, so they patched things up...or so Lovitz thought...

Lovitz claims that a year ago, Andy Dick, drunk, came over to a table in a West Hollywood establishment, where Lovitz sat with some friends. He says that Andy Dick drank his friends' drinks and said to him "I He claims that Andy once told him "I put the 'Phil Hartman Hex' on you - you're the next one to die." Jon asked him what he had said, and (the) Dick repeated it.

Lovitz: "I wanted to punch his face in, but I don't hit women."

Wednesday, July 11, 2007, when the two ran into each other at the Laugh Factory, Lovitz attempted to get an apology out of (the) Dick. "I wanted him to say he was sorry for the 'Phil Hartman hex'" He went on, "First he says, 'I don't remember saying that.' Then he leans in and says, 'You know why I said it? Because you said I killed Phil Hartman.' Which I never said. Then he asked me to be in his new movie."

At this point we can only assume that something biological occured within lovitz, as he seems like such a laid back guy.

"I grabbed him by the shirt and leaned him over and said, 'I don't want to be in your movie! I don't want to be in your life!' I pushed him against the rail. Then I pushed him again really hard. A security guard broke it up. I'm not proud of it ... but he's a disgusting human being."

Dick's rep did not immediately return calls for comment.
