An Introduction To Lucid Dreaming Awakening!
What about if we could use those hours of sleep to the full? Not only we sleep to rest our bodies, and this is an important part of sleep of course, but we also sleep for much more than resting our body. We also sleep to recharge and use our brain while we sleep.
I was introduced to lucid dreaming about 15 years ago. Before that, I didn't even know that there was such thing as lucid dreaming.
So, the obvious question I will ask in this introduction to lucid dreaming awakening is: Do you know what lucid dreaming is?
If the answer is no, the purpose of this lens is to inform you about what lucid
Lucid Dreaming is, and how it can be beneficial for every aspect of your life.
What Does It Mean To Have Lucid Dreams?
Lucid Dreaming Awakening
To have a lucid dream means that while you are dreaming you are realizing, while still dreaming and asleep that you are actually dreaming. You realize that everything you see, hear or touch, even yourself, ALL of it,is just a dream. When you first attain the realization that you are dreaming - when you become lucid for the first time - you will probably wake up few seconds thereafter. This is normal for any new lucid dreamers.
When I had my first lucid dream moment, I said out loud in my dream, I am dreaming! I am dreaming! and as I was laughing in my dream, I woke.
When you will become more experienced with lucid dreaming, however, not only you will be able to stay asleep, but you will be able to maneuver your dream anyway YOU want. With time and practice you will become a master of Lucid dreaming
Going Deeper Into Your Dreams
Lucid Dreaming Awakening
When you are asleep your body is at rest, but your brain is actually wide awake. the brain NEVER sleeps, it is awake 24/7.The only problem is that when you are dreaming your are NOT CONSCIOUS that you are. Therefore, you passively go through your dream powerlessly; going through the ups and downs of your dream letting the dream take control. Because of this fact comes the very nature of NIGHTMARES.
If you knew you were dreaming, you would be able to eliminate the FEAR factor of your nightmare, right then and there, and the nightmare will just die off.
Even if this was the only benefit for learning about the lucid dreaming awakening method, it would be worth it for many, but lucid dreaming goes well beyond this.
Are You Awake Now?
Lucid Dreaming Awakening
When you are dreaming you have NO IDEA that YOU ARE dreaming. You only become aware that you were dreaming once you're awake. And that is IF you remember your last dream as you are awakening. As you go through your dream you can see, hear, touch, smell, speak... do just as much and more as when you are awake. That is the reason why sleep walking people are actually getting up and physically act on what they are dreaming. This is because sleep walking is a disorder that prevents the brain to let the body know to remain still.
The crucial difference between dreams and awake life is that in dreams things change quickly and for no apparent reason. In dreams they are no LAWS, no social rules, no normal standards...none of that.
Let's say, that you are looking at a clock in a dream, but the time you are looking at is moving backward or 3 hours ahead in a split second, or you could be in Rome and take a walk down a road and find yourself in London at the end of it.
Thing like these are clues that you are actually dreaming. When you are able to recognize such clues as you are dreaming you will know how to become lucid and awake in your dreams.
It won't happen over night, so to speak, but it will happen as you learn, practice and exercise toward becoming a lucid dreamer.
Does it take efforts to become a lucid dreamer? Yes, it does. Are the rewards worth the efforts? Yes, they are.
So, how do you start? What should you do, and how long will it take?
The Learning Process
Lucid Dreaming Awakening
First of all, if you have never even heard of lucid dreaming, and don't really understand what it is all about, you should definitely READ about it. A very useful book that I read on lucid dreaming is titled LUCID DREAMING A Concise Guide To Awakening In Your Dreams And In Your Life. It's a book written by Stephen LaBerge, PH.D. who has been a researcher on lucid dreaming for decades and became the founder of the Lucidity Institute in 1988. The purpose of his institute is the enhancement of human health and well-being.
Your State Of Conciousness
Lucid Dreaming Awakening
The first exercise that you will need to go through is develop AWARENESS of your present state of consciousness while you are awake. The only way to control your dreams and your dream thoughts and awareness of them, is to control your awareness to what surrounds you while awake.
Learn to become AWARE of what you see, hear, touch... how your clothes feel, how your body feels, how everything around you REALY FEEL and IS.
Test Your Awakeness
Lucid Dreaming Awarkening

1) First of all you will have to keep a record of your dreams. The reason for this is that if you are not aware of your dream patterns, it would be impossible for you to ever awake in your dreams.
2)You will have to go through a series of test checking awakeness.
The book Lucid Dreaming has an excellent exercise that will teach you how to check test if you are asleep, or awake all through your waking hours. The least you assume that you are awake when you are the better.
These test check purpose is to train your brain to check on the state you are in NOW at this given moment, and not to take anything for granted. As you do this regularly during your waking hours, you will do it while you are asleep, and become lucid.
3) As you are ready for sleep, you will have to make a "conscious dream" where you will be dreaming what ever you wish, and see yourself becoming lucid.

In what Way Lucid Dreaming Will Benefit You?
Lucid Dreaming Awakening
As stephen LaBerge describes it in his book, "In dreams nothing external, no laws of society or physics would constrain your experience; you could do anything you could conceive of, anything you believe you could do".Lucid dreaming will help you to add more consciousness and more life into your life. In the process, you will increase your enjoyment and your abilities to do and act in your waking hours.
Some lucid dreamers have used their lucidity while dreaming to get rid of bad habits, emotional disorders, improve their skills, face and deal with their fears, and many more different aspects of life.
Lucid dreaming can and will improve your LIFE tremendously.

- Yes, I have had a few -- some more lucid than others. One was particularly vivid... and slow. I was aware that I was sleeping very deeply and that there was no danger of waking myself up if I explored. Curiously, that's one of the first thoughts when I become lucid: an awareness of how much time I have til I awake,

- Excellent lens. I have always found the idea of lucid dreams fascinating, but have rarely had one, let alone been able to control it.

- Well, lucid dreaming is NOT to be confused with "day dreaming" which are basically "thoughts", but, yes, as you can control your thoughts, lucid dreams are dreams that you CAN control.
