The One Thing I Couldn't Do Without Is My Little Blue Silk Bag of Luck, Love & Serenity.

I was asked to write a lens about something simple which I couldn't be without, I knew immediately what that thing was without having to give it a second thought because this thing with which I couldn't be without comes everywhere with me. Wherever I go I take this or something from this with me, this thing is a bag of things, my little blue bag of luck, love and serenity.

The reason I call my bag this is because that's exactly what it does...yes really. Each object that I keep inside this little blue silk drawstring pouch of mine has either been given to me by someone I love, or been used in a spell or ritual to create luck or serenity either for me or our home.

Some people would say that it's bad luck to keep so many objects of significance together in the same bag but as far as I'm concerned, I don't agree. I would never be able to choose just one of this bags contents to carry with me ...so I carry them all. It's only if I am going somewhere without another bag big enough to carry my little blue drawstring bag in, that I select a few randon items from the bag for my pockets and leave the bag itself at home...which has only been on a few occasions and to be honest I didn't enjoy whatever it was that I had gone out to do without my little blue drawstring bag of luck, love and serenity.

What is in my luck, love and serenity bag!

Now you may be wondering what exactly are the things which I hold so dear and keep inside my little blue bag of luck, love and serenity...right ?

The contents of this special little blue silk bag have almost no monetry value, but to me each thing is priceless and couldn't be bought from me...neither for love nor money. Things which I have collected over a number of years, small things that my children have given me as little tokens of their love for me, things which my closest friends have given me with their love and other small things which I felt drawn towards whilst browsing nick-knack shops and boot-fairs and one thing that my late departed Nan gave me when I became a teenager to bring me good luck throughout my grown-up life, which was given to me in this very same little blue silk drawstring bag and what started me off collecting all of the other objects which are all kept alongside that very first one given to me with lots and lots of love from my Nan.

So, now I am going to show you just what is inside my bag, I wont be able to show you every single item as some are meant for my eyes only and apart from this I have been told to keep this lens short, simple and to the point and I want to keep to that as much as I possibly can lol

This photograph shows you some of the items that are kept inside my little blue silk bag but not all of them, also the bag has some dried rice and dried lavender at the bottom, the rice I collected from that what was thrown over me for good luck when I got married to my late husband George, the lavender is from a pomander which my Nan gave me that used to hang in my wardrobe but got smashed when we moved the wardrobe to place somewhere else...my Nan giving it to me is the significant reason for my scooping it up and keeping it!

Below are some of the objects I keep along with the reasons I keeep them safe and close to me inside my little blue bag of luck, love and serenity.

The First Item Which My Nan Put Inside My Bag.

An Old One Penny Piece

This is my lucky old penny which my Nan put inside the bag for me on my 13th birthday. The one penny coin has Brittania on one side with the date which it was minted which was 1896 and on the reverse it shows HRH Queen Victoria.

This old penny has no real monetry value today...just a few pounds, but to me it may as well be a priceless masterpiece because I could not, would not, nor will not ever sell it or give it away...not for any price of love nor money.

This one penny is my most treasured item which I own because it was given to me by my late Nan with lots and lots of her love. x

Good Luck Charms & Lucky Symbols Quiz.

How well do you know about making your own luck using lucky charms & good luck symbols and how well do you know the things which are said to bring you bad luck?...

Take my quiz to find out ...and no need to look so worried..it's only for fun and cannot affect your luck in any way...hehe

Pink Angeline Crystal Puffy Heart Palmstone or Worry Stone

My youngest daughter Bobbi bought me this pink Angelite crystal palmstone when she was 10 years old for my Mothers Day gift.

Angelite has calming, love & serenity properties whilst other crystals have different properties of attraction.. Having an Angelite palmstone or worry stone is a really good idea for people who have stressful periods when at work, whilst shopping, anytime you are not at a place where you cannot take time-out, make a soothing drink & relieve your stress levels, having one of these Angelite palmstones in your pocket will be the next best thing. Simply hold the palmstone or worry stone between the thumb and your 2nd and 3rd fingers, clear your mind as much as you are able for the location and situation you are at, think of the feeling which you would like to be feeling...in the case of Angelite I would use it to reduce stress levels and feelings of fear or anger. Of course there are many many crystal palmstones which have different healing properties available to us, but due to the personal memory of the love given with my Angelite palmstone I have listed where you may buy some but you will never find one quite like this one of mine...Mine is priceless but yours will only cost you a few pounds or dollars lol...how nice is that!

My Angel Palm-stones of Harmony and Strength

This is my Harmony Angel palm-stone which I bought myself especially for my bag. Harmony means peaceful, calm, free from anxiety and stress.

Whenever I am feeling anxious, stressed or annoyed about anything while I'm out, I hold Harmony Angel in my hand and gently rub her with my thumb and she elliviates my anxiety and promotes well-being and balance once again.

This is the flip-side to my Harmony angel palm-stone, it shows Harmony Angel herself.

I have a complete set of these angel palmstones but I only keep the Harmony and the Strength angels in my bag, the remaining 10 angels have a place on my Angel altar which is in my bedroom and holds many Angels which my family and close friends have bought for me.

God Give Me Strength

This is one side of my Angel of Strength palm-stone. Angel of Strength works in much the same way as Harmony Angel, she gives me the strength to do things when I feel as though I haven't enough strength of my own.

I used to look upwards towards the sky & say "God give me strength" or "Heaven help me please" before I got her & I still use these words occasionally when at home

This is the flip-side of my Angel of Strength palm-stone, this side shows the Angel of Strength herself.

Both of these palm-stones of Angel of Strength and Harmony Angel are different, which is really nice as I can recognise each of the angels by their images, the fact that they're different makes them individuals and easy to connect with.

Are Good Luck Charms Really Good For Making You Lucky ?

Do you believe that we can make our own luck by wearing special amulets, charms and symbols ?. Of course, you have to beleive that they really can and do have the power to work miracles before they can actually work for anyone. I mean, how can something which you have no belief or faith in work for you because even if it did work, you still wouldn't believe that it had anything to do with the charms would you! For good luck charms to work at their very best you MUST believe that luck is held in them first They will not be lucky for you if you dont believe they can be will they.

Take part in my poll if you will as it will be interesting to see how many have belief in creating luck and how many don't...hey, It's just for fun so no need to look so worried or to opt-out ...really x

Why not start your own love, luck and serenity bag.

Giving someone a luck, love and serenity bag as a gift is a fabulous thing to do for them.

If ever you are stuck for a gift idea for someone who believes and has faith and of course a believer in miracles, then make a gift to them which will be worth more than your combined weights in gold...not money-wise of course but to your gift receiver it will mean so much for them knowing that you had put so much thought, love, luck and a dash of serenity in a nice velvet or silk pouch especially for them so that they may always know and feel that they are loved...sometimes we take it for granted that every one of our family and friends feel love but sadly this is not the case. Doing this small thing for them will give anyone the comfort in knowing that you think enough of them to put love, luck and serenity into a bag that words arn't necessary...this gift says everything that there are not words in any language to say what this gift says...trust me, I know!

Amazon have a number of drawstring pouch bags which are similar to mine. You don't have to buy anything expensive to put inside the bag, indeed you don't have to buy anything at all if you already have enough small items of some significance to you at home. Maybe you want to start a bag off so that when your child or grandchild gets married you can give it to them for luck, or maybe start a bag for another member of your family for some other reason. It doesn't matter if the items which you place inside mean nothing to you as long as they are given with love and sincerity then they will work miracles for whoever is lucky enough to receive one from you...it isn't meant for you after all is it, but were it given by your friend or family to you how would you feel ? ...I am right arn't I !

It is when you give the bag to your intended recipient when the contents suddenly take on their value...because the value of them will be priceless because it was given to them with lots of love, luck and serenity from you just for them...a nice thought eh!

Wishes v Miracles

Is making a wish and believing in miracles the same thing ??

Wishes coming true and receiving a miracle are both totally ridiculous.

Wishes can come true if you want them enough & work hard to make them happen, but miracles are a gift from God to people who believe & deserve them

The Four Leaf Clover

The 4 leaf clover is said to be extremely lucky for the finder. Each of the leaves represents a good sign, 1 is hope, another is faith, the 3rd is for love and the fourth represents luck. On a 3 leaf clover the leaves represent the same except that there is no 4th leaf and so it isn't seen as having any luck attatched to it.

The Horseshoe

Tradition has it that the horseshoe that is found on a path, road, street etc is lucky and when hung upside-down {so the points point downwards} that as well bringing good luck to the finder it also protects the home where it has been hung from danger. The horseshoe has a similar shape to that of the crescent moon which gives it the power to ward off the "evil eye".

The Rabbit's Foot

A popular lucky charm worldwide especially in the USA, it is believed that the wearer of a rabbits foot will face no bad luck and no evil can come near them. If the left hind foot is worn it is believed to protect the wearer from any harm , bad and evil and will bring extremely good luck. This is one of the earliest known good luck charms and dates back to 600BC.

To Touch Wood

This good luck belief is thought to come from Pagans who believe that trees have good spirits living in them, hence we "touch wood" to draw good luck from the good spirits.

Luck is believing that you're Lucky

This is my favourite of all. If you don't have any belief in something then how will you know when it has happened for you? This is especially true for good and bad luck and best of all it is true for miracles...if you don't believe in them then you will never get one.

A Wish-Bone Is Very Good At Bringing Luck & Serenity

Wish-bones are said to bring very good luck and serenity into your home, This is my lucky wish-bone which I kept from my wedding. For our marriage toast we had real wish-bones wrapped in silver foil and tied with a satin ribbon with the names of each guest attatched so that people knew who sat where etc. After My Dads speech, my Mum rattled a silver spoon against a Champagne bottle to gain the attention of all the guests so that they could raise a toast to my husband George & I.

After everyones flute was filled with Champagne, my Mum stood up & asked all the guests to stand up too. Everyone of us rose expecting to raise glasses for drinking to the happy coupkle etc. Instead of asking the guests to raise their glasses, Mum asked them all to pick-up the wish-bone which was placed on each table, wrapped in silver with silver satin bows & a silver jingle-sleigh bells, the wish-bones looked great as place-tags on the tables, but no-one was expecting them all to contain actual real chicken wish-bones which Mum had collected since I was a child especially for my wedding day...& so everyone held their wish-bone, faced the person sitting next to them, each taking one side of the wish-bone in each hand & Mum asked everyone to make a marriage wish for George & my marriage.

On the count of three everyone pulled their side of the wish-bones & you could hear the brittleness of bones snapping & wishes being made right across the hall, the bells attatched to the ribbons were jingling & then everyone gave us a huge round of applause before raising their glasses to seal the wishes they had made for us. George & I didn't snap our wish-bones though as a symbol of our never to break-up and seperate...this is my actual wedding table wish-bone.

Ankh of LIFE

I have in my little blue bag of luck, love and serenity this Ankh. Ankh means quite literally "LIFE" and the story behind how i came to have this Ankh is quite moving but i shall tell it to you in a way which you will understand which misses out the really sad bits ok.

I was given this Ankh by my late husband and he told me that it represented LIFE.

He told me that life was like a movie and everyone in the world were stars of their own movie, director, producer and cast chooser of their own movie and it was up to everyone who would be the star in their movies, then he said that i should never ever give anyone else the starring role in my movie and to teach our children not to allow anyone else to have the starring role in their movies either. I think he was trying to tell me not to make anyone else more important than ourselves in our lives and as long as the kids and i stuck to this philosophy we would never have a bad life or be held back in whatever we chose to do.

So why isn't the Ankh of LIFE my most treasured item in my bag you may well ask?..My Nans old one penny was always my most treasured item In there and that's the way it's gonna remain..after all if not for my Nan giving me this bag of Luck, Love and Serenity in the 1st place there would be no bag and maybe no luck, no love and no serenity..my motto is "If it aint broke..don't try fixing it !.

The Four Agreements

The Four Agreements is a book which tells you how to get the life you wish you had & is available to buy from eBay.

Faith, Belief and a Whole Lot of Love x

type=text

I left these three things which I have in my luck, love and serenity bag untill last because I wanted to save the best till last as is the traditional thing to do.

When my Nan gave me this little blue silk bag she put something very, very special in there with the old penny. She filled the bag with her love which she had for me, she filled the bag with her belief she had in everything I do, she filled the bag with the faith she had in me...the penny was put in with these things to remind me of the three most priceless things in life, things which were worth no more than the old penny but things which were so precious and valuable, three things which I would always have an abundance of in my life. Oh what a wonderful Lady my Nan was, to think that she thought of everything to ensure my happiness, to ensure I knew I was loved, to ensure I believed and always had faith in myself and above all ...faith in GOD !
