Lucy, the daughter of the Devil
The show follows the eponymous 21 year old Lucy, who lives in San Francisco and has been tapped by her father to fulfill her destiny as the Antichrist, whether she likes it or not.
Along the way she meets up with a DJ-Jesus-who turns out to be the second coming of the messiah and the two develop feelings for one another.
Meanwhile, her father tries different schemes in his quest to take over the world with the help of his "advocate," who acts as something of a personal assistant. At the same time a group of "Special Fathers" and a "Special Sister" are on a quest from the Vatican to find and destroy Lucy.
Lucy in TIME
the Magazine of course
Time Magazine blogger James Poniewozik's latest TV review centers on a show that we will all know and love very soon. Here's an excerpt of what he said.[Lucy] has the same kind of conversational, semi-improvised humor, which relies a lot here on contrasting its manichean plot with the mundane world. For instance, Satan tries to further his plans with a scheme that involves opening a "casual, after-work" restaurant chain called Tequila Sally's, with karaoke, an animatronic burrito and a signature dish called the "a-taco-lypse." Because he's Satan. Of course he would.
So, go read his review.

Lucy, the Daughter of the Devil
Lucy (Melissa Bardin Galsky, Jessi Klein in the pilot): The Antichrist, born of the devil and an unnamed woman in exchange for a Datsun 280 ZX. She has graduated art school, but is on no fixed career path, instead helping her father out in his ventures to conquer the world and taking a more-or-less permanent position as a bartender at his restaurant, Tequila Sally's in the meanwhile. She is in a relationship with DJ Jesus, and helps him in his different stunts, and seems to want to get him and her father close together. The Devil
Lucy's dad
The Devil (H. Jon Benjamin): The mythical figure of pure evil, though he seems more playful than malevolent and willing to take over the world slowly and through schemes. Initially he intended to outright kill DJ Jesús when he learned who he was, but has since waffled of that position, opting instead to use other means to get him out of the way, though killing him is not out of the question.Fathers rarely think any man is good enough for their little girls to date, but for Lucy, the Devil's 21-year-old daughter, disapproval is deadly for her prospective mates. Set in San Francisco, this CGI animated comedy hails from the imagination of Loren Bouchard of the Home Movies and Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist fame. Lucy, The Daughter of the Devil is TV-MA.
Becky, the Devil's Advocate
Becky, the Devil's Advocate (Melissa Bardin Galsky): Becky serves as something of a personal assistant and manager for the Devil. She's frequently annoyed at his schemes, voicing the opinion that they're rather pointless or unnecessarily involved. DJ Jesús
DJ Jesús (Jon Glaser): A DJ and the messiah. Wanting to be more than just a DJ ("and less than a DJ") he began incorporating "nearacles" ("Like, almost miracles, but not quite."[1]) into his sets. Judas - DJ Jesús' sycophantic personal assistant.
Senator Robert "Bob" Whitehead
Senator Robert "Bob" Whitehead (Sam Seder): A U.S. Senator who worships Satan, though he tried to keep it secret from the public. The Devil and Becky have made plans for his ascension to President, with Lucy at his side, however she is completely uninterested in him. The Special Clergy:
The Special Clergy: A group of priests and a nun on a mission from the Vatican to save the world from the Antichrist. To help in their mission they both collect forgotten artifacts and use their powers, and outright spy on other characters in the with known Satanic ties.
o Special Father #1 - Giuseppe Cantalupi (H. Jon Benjamin): Seems to be the leader of the trio. He is heard giving a monologue at the beginning of almost every episode
o Special Father #2 - Benetti (Sam Seder): The most quiet of the trio. He speaks with an Italian accent and is never seen without his night-vision goggles.
o Special Sister - Mary (Eugene Mirman): With a lazy eye and a shrill, grating voice, Sister Mary seems to be the most dedicated to the Special Clergy's mission, and is not above killing innocent bystanders.
which one are you?
Original Theme Song
I wouldn't if I was you.I know what you can do.
Shes deadly man and she could really rip your world apart
Mind over matter
The beauty is there but the beast is in her heart
Oh, here she comes
Watch out boy she'll chew you up
Oooh, here she comes
She's a man eater
Man eater!

interview with - Loren Bouchard
by Patrick Douglas - Friday, 24 August 2007
"Lucy, Daughter of the Devil" - Loren Bouchard (2007)Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Satan's spawn was a normal woman in her mid-'20s just trying to make it like the rest of us?
In the new Cartoon Network "Adult Swim" show "Lucy, Daughter of the Devil," that's exactly what's going on.
Creator Loren Bouchard talked about the new show Friday, August 24, 2007, from San Francisco.
full interview...
a critical analysis
The new Adult Swim show:
Lucy, Daughter of the Devil
tries to destroy those stereotypes.
The devil, voiced by H. Jon Benjamin of Dr. Katz and Home Movies fame, is a generally lazy demon who is willing to help destroy the world, but concerned with his own happiness. While talking to his secretary, voiced by Melissa Bardin Galsky, also from Home Movies, Satan shows off his ability to use acronyms, which he explains makes speaking more fun.
Despite the fact he is the epitome of evil, Satan shows care for his daughter, half- human, half-devil Lucy, though he clearly doesn't support her lifestyle:
("I paid for your stupid art school, didn't I? And I got you a dog. A hypo-allergenic dog, mind you, because you're allergic."
"Excuse me, did you just say 'stupid art school?' Dad?"
"No."
"Yes you did!"
"Art is not stupid, Lucy.").
That care for his daughter, however, reaches out to her love life, much to Lucy's dismay. After commanding the dog he bought for his daughter to convince her boyfriend to commit suicide, Satan sets his daughter, the anti-Christ, up on a date with a sleazy agent of the devil, a senator, voiced by talented voice actor Sam Seder (who also played roles on Home Movies among other credentials).
Lucy immediately finds the man disgusting and becomes attracted to the DJ at the club the two are at. Here's the twist...the DJ at the club is none other than the second coming of Jesus. The end of the pilot finds the Anti-Christ and Christ "getting acquainted."
Writer/director/producer Loren Bouchard, also known for his time with Dr. Katz and, again, Home Movies, produces another winning script and overall show with this one, which, though billed as such, is anything but a family comedy.
Lucy, the Daughter of the Devil
Lucy, the Daughter of the Devil is a computer-animated cartoon aired by Cartoon Network as part of its Adult Swim programming block. It is directed by Loren Bouchard, produced by Bouchard, Seth and Josh Piezas, and animated by Fluid Animation. It stars Melissa Bardin Galsky as Lucy, who as the title states, is the daughter of the devil (voiced by H. Jon Benjamin).
As of October 2008, the show has not been renewed for a second season, though it's creators are in negotiations with Adult Swim.
History of the Show
The pilot episode "He's Not the Messiah, He's a DJ" first aired on October 30, 2005. After nearly 2 years and a number of re-airings, the show was picked up for a full season, which premiered on September 9, 2007.
Minor changes were made between the pilot and the full series. The voice of Lucy was changed from Jessi Klein to Melissa Bardin Glasky; the third Special Father character, a black man missing an eye, was discarded and replaced with the Special Sister; and the cover of Maneater used as opening music was replaced for rebroadcasts.
Lucy, the Daughter of the Devil features many of the cast and crew of the Adult Swim show Home Movies, including Melissa Bardin Galsky, H. Jon Benjamin, Eugene Mirman, and Sam Seder. Loren Bouchard was co-creator of Home Movies.

Origin of the Antichrist:
the Book of Revelation doesn't mention the Antichrist. The idea was made popular in the movies.

Antichrist characters have been the continuing subject of speculation and attraction, often explored in fiction and media, and the character has developed his own sort of fictional mythology apart from bibical scripture. For example, the Book of Revelation does not say the Antichrist will be the son of Satan. in fact the Book of Revelation doesn't mention the Antichrist at all; but the idea was made popular in at least two movies, The Omen, and its sequels, with the evil child, Damien, who grows up with the destiny to rule and destroy the world, and Rosemary's Baby'' with her son, Adrian/Andy.
