The art of Mario Martinez AKA MARS-1 is out there. We are talking X-Files out there. His characters are strange and alien; robotic yet beautiful. His Vinyl Art is a melding of mechanical and organic much like the work of HR Geiger but without the shades of horror. MARS-1 who currently resides in San Francisco may be relatively new on the scene, but his work is becoming highly collectible and a lot of his early pieces namely the Recon or Spheres are extremely hard to find.

The current MARS-1 figures you will most likely run across in retail stores are called Observer. If you are the least bit interested in a MARS-1 piece I recommend grabbing whatever you like especially if you find a BLACK ONE because it tends to not be around very long.

One word of advice... See all the links I give you to the stores. Well, Go there first and see the prices for these fine vinyl pieces and then... only then go out on EBAY and bid. Just from experience... EBAY is a rip-off waiting to happen most of the time.

The only real difference is that the geometric details paint application is a slightly different color on each. One is Black and one is Blue.
