If you know what squadron your Marine is PCSing to, give that Family Readiness Officer a call. They have tons of information.
I have lived in private housing and military housing. You can save money on your BAH in private housing, but often the places are small and noisy. The military housing takes all of your BAH but it provides all the utilities, alarm system, internet. (basically all you pay for is phone and cable.)
