Mystic Mama's Lensography

It's funny...on a lot of bio's and lensographys...I see, I've noticed that people like to say that their online names are their pen names...

I guess coming from an entertainment family...I just don't get that. All of my Art and writing is under my real name. Bambi wants credit for her creations!

Mystic Mama is my online nickname...It came about because I used to own a little "new age" type gift store called Mystic Mercado. My Henna tattoo business was run out of the store and was called: Mystic Henna. I do tarot readings & henna parties as Mystic Mama....see the pattern here?

Mystic Mama is kind of like a character I play, like when my Mom was Diamond Lil'. It's a real extension of myself, but not the entire person. I can really relate to that Eminem song: "will the real slim shady please stand up".

I think we all are complicated, multi-faceted people like that...We all have different personas for different areas of our lives. At work we're one person and at home another...and another still when we're out on the town.

I am a lot of different personas...a mother...a wife...a sister...a daughter...a grandma...a pet parent...an artist...a writer...a fantastic cook...party girl...intellect...political and social activist...a bitch...a singer...a poet...henna tattoo artist...Esoteric Expert...tarot card reader...empathic psychic...seamstress...gardener...nature lover...fisherman...strong woman...childish...funny...grumpy...you get the idea!

When I found this site, but it was love at first sight...As a tattoo artist, it is just a very excellent place to get flash.

Those are my folks on the left during their "folk music" phase in the early 70's.

I always had lots of fantastic music of all kinds in my life because of them. I remember riding in the back of the van, sitting on a six foot amp, going from gig to gig. There were impromtu jam sessions at our house almost every day, depending on who dropped by.

There was always music at our house. What a fun way to grow up.
