The scandal surrounding Mystic Moon Press appears to be true. The owner has failed to pay authors for two quarters and stole the monies owed to said authors. The company will be shutting down and all works removed from various websites according to rumors. Fictionwise has already pulled all books by the shady publishing company.

As a victim of said publisher, it has been not only a harrowing experience, but heartbreaking turn of events.I have written a registered letter to pull my contracts and written a letter of resignation. As a contracted employee, I was not privy to the inner workings of the company and have suffered equally, if not more from this terrible tragedy.

Several of the authors are considering opening their own publishing companies, and I admit I am researching the possibility myself, though I would provide a home for only Canadian authors seeking worldwide exposure. This is still in the planning stages, but I will certainly keep everyone up to date as things progress.

For now, please refrain from buying any titles published by Mystic Moon Press as the authors will not see any of that money for their hard work.
