    Hi,

At last! Myanmar! Not Burma! Is it just me that has noticed how all the mainstream media AND politicians refer to Burma and NOT Myanmar? I don't know why this annoys me, it just does. We all call Bombay 'Mumbai' so why can't it be Myanmar? Is this some kind of political posturing even in the face of such disaster. I expect so.

Over 2 million people could be affected and are in need of help. I hope Myanmar's government will let the international agencies in. Congratulations on LOTD, 5 stars.
  • poddys May 20, 2008 @ 3:07 pm | delete
I just feel so saddened that many countries in the world are offering help and support, yet the government won't let them in.

Why does politics have to come before human kindness so often? It's a very sad world that we live in.

Nice lens in a good cause.

I didn't see Operation Blessing International on your list of charities. They have local people on the ground and can actually get some aid to the people who need it. See eyewitness blog entry
