Q.        What happens if after somebody does not pay the $24.00 within 3 days after the installation of the X-Lite?

A.        That will be very sad indeed... We will send a polite reminder via email, or call the concerned person. If another 3 days pass and we do not receive the payment, then we will transfer the account to another waiting applicant. We hope that will be an exceptional case.

If it becomes rampant, then we will adopt a policy that the applicant provides his credit card or debit card information before we process the application. We will only charge the card 3 days after the successful configuration of the X-Lite.

Otherwise, we will simply stop the program.

Q.        Can I buy an IP Phone instead of using the X-Lite?

A.        Yes. You can buy an unlocked IP Phone from any vendor. We will then do a remote configuration of the IP Phone you bought. We charge $50.00 for this special configuration.

Q.        Why do you charge a higher fee?

A.        We charge a higher fee because our people have to do more work. Besides, different IP Phones require different configuration.

Q.        Will I still get a US Telephone Number?

A.        Yes.

Q.        Is it possible to use your service and keep my existing telephone number?

A.        Yes. In this case, you have to buy a certain kind of Analog Telephone Adaptor (ATA) from us. We can program it to ring such that your phone will ring when someone calls either number, i.e., your existing telephone number or the one we will provide you.

Q.        I am actually a subscriber to Vonage. For $24.99 a month, I enjoy unlimited calls to the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. However, my calls to my relatives in Shanghai and Hongkong cost $0.10 and $0.40 per minute respectively. Can I pre-terminate my subscription to Vonage and switch to yours? If I do, how much will it cost me to call China?

A.        You might find that it may be troublesome to pre-terminate contracts. We suggest that you finish your contract with Vonage. We are assuming you signed up for a 12-month contract. During the remaining period of your contract, we suggest that you do the following:

1.        Since you already are familiar with ATA box (the one you received from Vonage), you get another unlocked ATA box from any vendor online. (Please make sure it is unlocked). Have it sent to us directly. We will do the necessary programming and configuration such that you can make unlimited, free calls to landlines and cell phones in the following countries for free during the remaining period of your contract with Vonage:

a.        China
b.        Hongkong
c.        Singapore
d.        United States
e.        Canada
f.         Puerto Rico

2.        You can also order the ATA box from us for $120.00, plus shipping and handling.

4.        Our fee for programming and configuring your ATA box is $50.00. However, if and when you subscribe to one of our regular services, the corresponding fee of the service you will subscribe to will be deducted by the costs of the ATA box and the programming and configuration fees.

Q.        We heard about unlimited free calls to China and the rest of the world from FreeCallPlanet and FuturePhone by calling an access number in Iowa. How is your product offering different from theirs?

Q.        I am from the Philippines. We have more than 10 million Philippine nationals scattered all over the world. I notice that the Philippines is not one of the 34 countries to where we can make unlimited calls for free. Do you have any special program for us?

We do have preparations to introduce unlimited free calling to the Philippines. But this will take a little bit of time because of the nature of the regulatory atmosphere in that country at the moment.

We do have a work-around on this - without violating existing regulations. Through this work-around, you can call your family members and friends in the Philippines for free, and they can call you for free in return.

We are not referring to peer-to-peer calls like Skype and Google Talk in which both parties have to be in their respective computers. Rather, calls can be made using landlines or even cell phones, depending on the level of service one subscribes to.
