Magnetosomes
Our body naturally creates cells of magnetite. Each cell contains a chain of 15 to 30 of these little nano-magnets magnetosomes. We know through science that these magnetosomes are formed from a type of iron in our body, magnetite.

Magnetosomes
Research on bacteria.
Quote from Molecular Mechanisms of Magnetosome Formation article."Magnetosomes are perhaps the best studied of these bacterial organelles and display many of the common features of eukaryotic organelles. A lipid bilayer membrane containing a distinct set of proteins surrounds each magnetite crystal, and magnetosomes are organized into chains via a dedicated cytoskeleton (30, 32, 37). In addition, a fully functional magnetosome membrane is present prior to magnetite formation and is the site of its biomineralization, showing that this membranous compartment behaves as an independent organelle (30, 31)."

Magnetite
What is magnetite?
The metallic bond is responsible for the crystalline structure of pure metals. The valence electrons are shared collectively by all the atoms in the crystal. The electrons behave like a free gas moving within the lattice of fixed, positive ionic cores. The extreme mobility of the electrons in a metal explains its high thermal and electrical conductivity.

Magnetite In Humans
This is a quote from:Biomagnetism and Bio-Electromagnetism:
The Foundation of Life
by H. Coetzee, Ph.D.
"The discovery of a biogenic material (that is, one formed by a biological organism) with ferromagnetic properties and found to be magnetite was the first breakthrough toward an understanding as to why some animals have the ability to detect the earth's magnetic field. Searches for biogenic magnetite in human tissues had not been conclusive until the beginning of the 1990's when work with high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and electron diffraction on human brain tissue extracts of the cerebral cortex, cerebellum, and meninges (membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord) identified magnetite-maghemite crystals."
So, we know through research that magnetite exist in the human nervous system. Other research like - Jacobson, J.I. "Exploring the potential of magneto-crystallization of genes and associated structures with respect to nerve regeneration and cancer." International Journal of Neuroscience, 64 (1992):153-165. Suggest that magnetosomes play a role in the healing of the body.
However, the most interesting aspect of magnetosomes is connected to psychic ability. The research of Dr. John Zimmerman, who measured emissions from the hands of experienced therapeutic touch practitioners, meditators, qigong and yoga practitioners found large, frequency-pulsing bio-magnetic fields, 1000 times greater than the strongest known human bio-magnetic field.
Here is the best news of all! By simply ingesting magnetite you can increase your bio-magnetism and your psychic ability!
Research published by the National Academy of Sciences in the PNAS journal, December 4, 2007 vol. 104 no. 49, shows how bacteria produce magnetosomes through a biomineralization process. Magnetite is a combination of wustite (FeO) and hematite (Fe2O3) which makes (Fe3O4) magnetite. This wustite hematite combination is what actually makes magnetite magnetic.
