Meet Cisco - A Maine Coon Look-Alike
Hi, I'm the Ciscokid!
Greetings--My name is Cisco and I'm pleased to be a Maine Coon Copycat.
I've got my people well trained. Ma knows exactly when to give me my treat. I expect my tasty dish of Gourmet cat food as soon as she gets home from work--can you believe, she only gives me a quarter of a can per day? Of course, I don't live on that small ration. My regular food is dry cat food--I tolerate it 'cause that's all I get to survive on--I don't have the luxury of being finicky. But I sure look forward to Ma coming home each afternoon. I greet her at the door (I'm part dog), and follow her around and talk to her until she gives me my treat.
When she first started giving me my small portion of Fancy Feast, she gave it to me when she woke up in the morning. I don't understand why she stopped doing that--it was great to have a treat bright and early in the morning...after all I was a perfect alarm clock.
I get treats from Pa too. Where ever I am in the house, whether sleeping or window watching, I tune in to his psyche every time he even thinks about opening a can of tuna fish. I'll appear just in time for him to pour the tuna water into a bowl for me. I like water, but that tuna water is something special.I have a "poverty phobia" and I try not to completely empty my bowl of dry cat food. If I'm hungry, and there are only a few morsels left, I'll stare at the bowl and wait for it to be filled before I eat any more.
Whenever Ma and Pa get into a discussion, I want to be part of the conversation. I'll get between them and start talking. I love talking any time my people talk to me and I usually get the last word.
I also like talking to the birds and other cats that venture into my yard. I enjoy my freedom to go in and out whenever I feel like it. I have a cat door into the backyard. Often I like to go out to the front yard and Ma and Pa let me exit through their front door. If they forget to let me back in, I simply climb the fence to the backyard and through my cat door. I'm happy just being in my own yard and have no interest in venturing beyond my domain.I am a well adjusted, content and happy cat.

See How I Compare To Those Coon Beauties
I FIT IN WITH THE BEST OF THOSE COONS!
- 1) Easy going, mild mannered, friendly demeanor (me all the way--I'm a "gentle giant")
2) Large, massive appearance (I'm 16 lbs)
3) Luxuriant, plumed tail (I got it, I got it)
4) Good hunter (I bring in large nectar moths, preying mantis, katydids and once I caught a hummingbird)
5) Kittenish throughout their lives (I chase ropes, play hide and seek with Ma, I love to jump on the bed and get under the new clean sheets as they are being thrown on the bed)
6) Soft, chirping or squeaking voice (that's me for sure, except when I demand my treat--then I get a little loud and even scold my Ma. I am also very good at trilling my meows when I am feeling very comfortable and happy and getting special attention from my people.)
7) Self confident and not too needy (I can be alone and I also enjoy the company of my people--but I keep it cool and try not to show too much interest)
8) Ideal personality (Well, what more can I say--I've got the whole package)

The Maine Coon Cat
The Maine Coon is a breed of domestic cat with a distinctive physical appearance. It is one of the oldest natural breeds in North America, specifically native to the state of Maine, where it is the official State Cat.
The breed was popular in cat shows in the late 1800s, but its existence became threatened when long-haired breeds from overseas were introduced in the early 20th century. The Maine Coon made a comeback and is one of the most popular cat breeds in the world
The Maine Coon is noted for its large bone structure, its rectangular body shape, and a long, flowing coat. The breed can be seen in a variety of colors and are known for their intelligence and gentle personalities. Health prob...

- Very cool cat...looks very Maine Coonish to me... my questions would be...does he have long fur on the pads of his paws? and is his size due to being over-weight or is it length related? My Kitty Wompuss was 16 pounds at 2 years, which is not full grown for a Maine Coon... but he had zero fat...& was 40 inches long from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail...Maine Coons are ultimately determined by length...since they are the Worlds longest domestic cats their unusually long bodies are what end up separating them from domestic linghairs in the end. Very cool lens :-)
