Magic Kingdom - Main Street USA

Ranked #14,523 in Travel & Places, #347,993 overall

Welcome to MAIN STREET

When arriving at Magic Kingdom and having passed through the entrance turnstiles, you will come through a tunnel under Main Street Railroad Station and enter Town Square with Main Street leading away from you up to the Castle.

Within the Town Square you will find City Hall, the Fire Station and The Harmony Barber Shop.
You can get a hair cut at the Barber Shop if you wish.

If you wish you can take a horse drawn carriage down Main Street, alternatively you can walk down Main Street taking in all the different shops as you go.

The afternoon parade finishes by coming down Main Street to Town Square and is a popular place for guests to view the parade.

If you are wanting to exit the park around about the time of the parade you may wish to leave a little early as it can becoem very congested. The same applies to the firework show in the evening.

Take time to enjoy Main Street USA, there is a lot on offer and much of it is missed by most guests.

City Hall

Home to Guest Relations, Information and Lost & Found

City Hall is to the left as you enter Town Square from the Railroad Station. It is home to Guest Relations, Information and Lost & Found.

If it is your birthday, be sure to call into guest relations and pick up a Birthday Pin similar to the one in the picture. This will tell everybody that it is your birthday and you should get lots of extra attention and pleasant suprises.

You can also find out about and make dinner reservations at the Guest Relations desk.

During Christmas celebrations you can meet Father Christmas and get you picture taken with him alongside City Hall in the small garden.

Main Street Vehicles

Take a ride in a horse drawn vehicle

The Main Street Vehicles are typical of early 20th century horse drawn vehicles. They travel up and down Main Street giving guests a ride.

You can take a one-way trip either from Town Square to the Plaza in front of the castle, or if you wish you can travel the other way.

You can choose from riding in a horse car, omnibus, jitney, horseless carriage or a fire engine.

Walt Disney World Railroad

The Walt Disney Railroad runs generally around the outside of the Magic Kingdom. There are three stations, Main Street, Frontierland and Mickey's Toontown Fair. The total circuit takes about 20 Minutes and is a good way of crossing the park whilst taking a short break from walking.

There are 4 steam powered engines all refurbished from their earlier lives as freight haulers. Access to the stations is controlled to maintain a high level of safety.

Disabled guest in wheelchairs must transfer to ride.

Town Square Exposition Hall

Houses Disney's PhotoPass Center. Presented by Kodak.

This is an often overlooked attraction that many guests do not even realise is there. When you enter the Town Square Exposition Hall you come in to the Camera Center hosted by Kodak. This is why many people miss what is behind. There are scenes and character cut outs that are great for taking pictures. Kids will love appearing on TV with the 101 dalmations, riding in Steam Boat Willy with Mickey and look out for the dwarfs.

Sometimes you will also get to meet some other characters here as they make their way to and from Main Street USA and the Town Square.

This area is usually very quiet and being inside is always cooled by air conditioning, it is a great place to spend half an hour relaxing either during the middle of the day or on your way into or out of the park.
