Make Your Own Mind Movie

What are Mind Movies?

A Mind Movie is the dynamic equivalent of a Vision board, an aid to assist you in focussing on your goals.

A Vision board is a collection of images, either concentrating on a specific goal or, more commonly, a visual representation of the goals in each area of your life. Once made, the Vision board is placed in a highly visible area where you can see it repeatedly throughout your day so as to keep your goals firmly in front of you as an objective. However, it is static.

A Mind Movie is dynamic, in that it is a collection of images within the context of a movie. However, it can also be a collection of short videos sequences and it can be put to music.

Both the Vision board and Mind Movie are very powerful tools for helping you reach your goals.

The Mind Movie Concept

Examples

I first came across the idea of the Vision board in "The Secret". It represents a very powerful tool to accompany the process of achieving goals, however, the vision board is static. The Mind Movie is more dynamic in that it involves more of your senses (vision and hearing) and can be made to develop a stronger emotional response through your choice of music. Furthermore, you can change both the pictures / photos and the music as your goals change / evolve.

The Mind Movie I made for myself reflects My values, My goals and My dreams. And, because it is so personal, I will not be sharing it here (my apologies). However, Alexandra Cattoni's Mind Movie serves as an example.

A Mind Movie (or Visionboard) serves as visual representations for your goals, ideally, in each area of your life. In my Mind Movie, I have a page dedicated to my wife and one for each of my children, my work, financial aspirations, recreation / vacation and so on.

Each page consists of a set of photographs, either of my family or otherwise related to the theme of the particular page representing the desired goal, or an abstract image of that goal. Each page consists of between 1 and 4 images so that any given page is not too busy and, therefore, potentially confusing.

Manifesting Mega Wealth Affirmation Mind Movie

Here is another example of a Mind Movie in which only a single image comprises each page and each cycles through relatively rapidly, accompanied by simple animations of captions and phrases. The theme of this Mind Movie is wealth, but the theme of your Mind Movie is only limited by your imagination.

It can be restricted to a single theme, as in this example, or it can include multiple themes and goals in your life.

It's Fun and, at times, Emotional

Capturing Your Goals

The message I DO want to pass on through this post is that although making my MIind Movie took about 4 days, it was relatively easy. Most of the time was spent going through my library of family pictures trying to decide which ones best reflected the concept I was trying to achieve ... and time spent reviewing family photographs, and re-living family memories, is time well spent relishing life!

Procedure

It's Relatively Easy

I used Photoshop Elements 6.0 in the "Create" directory using the "Collage" feature. I then pasted my photographs into each Concept page, according to the concept I had in mind. Each page was separately saved and, subsequently, imported into "Windows Movie Maker" (which comes with the Windows Operating System).

I used the "Import Pictures" to import my Concept pages and "Import Audio or Music" to import the audio tracks I wanted to use. Then it was just an exercise of timing transitions (using View Video Transitions) between Concept Pages to the soundtrack.

It was not that difficult and was a very satisfying and, at times, emotional exercise. I am well satisfied with my final product.

The advantage of preparing the Vision board and/or a Mind Movie in digital format is that the resulting product can be loaded onto your iPhoone, Touch, Blackberry, etc. and taken with you wherever you go and, therefore, viewed whenever you want.

Try it!!

Note: this procedure leaves you with a video in *.wvm format which can be uploaded to YouTube.

    I wasn't aware of the existence of this concept. I only knew of moodboards and mindmaps. Very interesting, when I watch the example I get excited to make one myself!

    I hope you DO make one for yourself. I made one specific to me and I love it. It is relatively easy and, as you are familiar with the general concept, you understand the potential value.

    Thanks for your comment!

The key concept underlying a Vision board or Mind Movie is that you are trying to embed your desired goal into your sub-conscious, so that your sub-conscious mind is congruent, and working with, your conscious mind.

Integrated Success Program Group on Yahoo
This group was created to discuss thoughts, opinions and interpretations originating, in part, from the classic personal development texts (James Allen, Charles Haanel, Napoleon Hill, etc.) and other related topics of interest (i.e. Law of Attraction, Creative Visualization).

Researching the power of the mind and, more specifically, the sub-conscious mind over the past twenty years has allowed me to discover of many gems of wisdom buried in these timeless texts, as well as more recently published texts. The recent release of "The Secret" has had the result of drawing considerable attention to the "LAW OF ATTRACTION", however, I believe the process underlying its application to one's life was missing from the movie.

Contrary to the hype attending release of "The Secret", the LAW OF ATTRACTION is not a recent discovery in metaphysics, nor has it been actively suppressed by the Church or hidden societies. It simply passed into relative obscurity through the passage of time. It has been, and remains, available to everyone who searches for it and is willing to actually apply it to their lives.

The formula is available, and is, in all likelihood, well known to most. In its simplest form, it was concisely summarized as follows:

Ask and it will be given to you;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.

For everyone who asks receives;
he who seeks finds;
and to him who knocks, the door will be opened

Matthew 7:7 (Luke (11:9) NIV

In short, visualize your desired outcome, then take the appropriate action to receive its manifestation. ACTION is an integral, necessary part of the three part formula to realize (manifest) your desired outcome.
