It's Easy to Make a Custom Poster in Almost Any Size

So you want to make your own poster, but don't want to pay a printer lots of money to make 500 copies or whatever the minimum number is to get a custom poster made?

The best place to go is Zazzle, where you can make your own from scratch or use one of the many templates and decorative borders available in my store there, Zephyrus Books Products

Create Your Own From Scratch

If you have an image and you want to make it into a poster, go to either theZazzle Posters or Zazzle Framed Prints page. Actually, you can select or de-select a frame from any page, so it is not that important which you choose to start with.

You will need to have your picture or image on your computer and ready to upload. The size options will depend on the size of your picture, as measured in pixels. Generally, the posters will print at 100 to 200 pixels to the inch. 200 is better for quality, but they can go down to 100 if needed. Thus, if you have a 2000 by 1500 pixel photograph or drawing, the maximum size you can print is 20 by 15 inches. Higher resolution images are therefore better if you want larger posters or prints.

Put a Border on Your Poster or Print.

Or change the background color.

Zazzle will allow you to put a simple border of many different colors and widths. You can in this way make int more amenable for framing or centering your image.

You can also use the re-size feature on the "Print Options" tab which will allow you to change one or both dimensions. You can "unlock" the aspect ratio if you want to make larger top or bottom margins.

You can also change the background color, which can be set to show only on the image edges, or you can use the "Advanced Options" button to set the white areas of an image a transparent. This is very useful for monochrome or line drawings where this would make a nice effect, such as the two examples immediately below. The first has no background color, and the second has a new color with the white areas of the image set as transparent.

Put Your Image in One of My Many Available Border Templates

Just Substitute Your Image For The Image That Is There - The Border Will Remain The Same

Using a Template is fairly straightforward. All the template I have available are shown with an image inside the border frame, and all you need to do is click the "Select Image" button to change the image to your own. The decorative border remains, and your image is paced "behind" it and shows through the blank white areas of the frame. Click any of the below image to be taken to my poster template gallery.
