What is a Splash Page?

Before making a splash page you need to now what
one is.

A splash page is simply a small page that is
created to be shown mainly in traffic exchanges.
Instead of sending a viewer directly to your
main affiliate/member site a splash page is used.

Splash pages take the main idea of what you have
to promote. Designed to grab the attention of
the viewer within a few seconds.

3 Brief Steps for Making a Splash Page

  1. Grab the Attention with a Stunning heading.
This should be something that stops the viewer from moving to the next page. The heading is the main part of the splash page for getting results. Without an attention grabbing heading you will NOT be successful.

  2. Make your Splash Page Interesting!
Now that you grabbed the attention of the viewer keep it. Don't put a simple line stating you can earn thousands by visiting
my site. Use a paragraph explaining the exciting parts of what you are promoting.

  3. Now Make them Acted.
Without this part, you are just talking. You made the viewer interested in your promotion now tell them what to do.
    1. Should they enter their email address asking for more information?
    2. Should they click on a link?
    3. Maybe they should just bookmark your site.

Graphical or Plain Text?

It's your choice.

A splash page can be made up one large graphical image or many small images clustered together.

This type of splash page can present a lot of
attention grabbing.

A plain text splash page is less attention grabbing but be made interesting by the detail of the writing.

Choosing which type of splash page to use depends on your specifications.

If you are good with making graphics you could make your splash page graphical to show off your talent.

If aren't gifted with the graphical talent then a plain text may be your choice.

There are also some other factors that you may want to look at on creating your splash page.

Where will it be displayed?
If you are mainly using it for the traffic exchanges then you may want to use a more text style so that it will load faster.

Now on with one of the most important things of marketing ... BRANDING.

How could you resist?

Who Are YOU?

Why should I buy from you when I don't know you.

Branding plays a major row in marketing and splash pages are a great way to brand youself,
or business.

Just by adding a simple picture you can have instant branding visually. With the addition
of adding your name or the name of your business you give the viewer an association between the two.

By continually using the same branding you start to get people to know who you are. This helps increase your conversion rate because they will be more willing to buy from you.

Size Matters.

What size should your splash page be?

You could use different sizes of splash pages and
do a split-test on them to find out which is the best for the product that you are promoting.

Since there has been such a big search for how big a splash page should be, I have decided to add some more here.

Tim Linden of StartXchange did a test on the minimum browser size for viewing traffic exchanges.

He found that the average came to 462 pixels. This would be the height of the browser window where you
see the site.

My suggestion is to have a maximum size of 400 pixels in height. This would allow the viewer to see all your splash with little to no scrolling.

The width could be around 500.

Which type of splash page do you like more.

Text splash pages with little graphics or a splash page made only of graphics.

Text splash pages load faster and are easier to make.
Graphical splash pages take longer to load but can be more attractive.

Which type do you prefer.

Where's my splash page?

You created a splash page but now what do you do with it?

You need to have a way to get it displayed on the internet. This means that you need hosting.

Don't use a free hosting because they generally use ads to support their cost and this can ruin your percentage of conversions.

Global Domain International is a prefered hosting because you get your own domain name and hosting all for $10 and you get to try it for 7 days to see if you like it.

Visit the site and see the presentation to see how
GDI can put money in your pocket in addition to your
own business.
