Thank you, Thank you - very informative overview of scotch. Also, I think whiskey stones would make a great gift for the scotch drinker who doesn't quite have it all yet.

This is excellent, well written and well thought out. Thank you for the time you've put into this page, it's very informative. Not to mention fun to try many different kinds of Whiskey.

I'm a big fan of Glenfiddich myself. Me and my buddy pretty much stick with that.
  • access2 Jun 3, 2009 @ 7:04 am | delete
Whiskey is "the water of life" (uisge beatha) around here, and single malt scotch is the best! I recommend Knockando -- a very smooth 18 year-old Speyside spirit from the Cardnach spring. There's no accounting for taste, of course, but I think it's outstanding.

In our home, the ONLY acceptable answer to "Would you like whisky?" is "yes please":) If you join the Friends of Laphroaig you get one square foot of land on Islay and the right to collect rent when you visit - a dram!

Beautifully laid out lens. Just caught up on your blog today. This has got to be one to the nicest, cleanest laid out lenses similar to what MyNameIsKate does for shopping bags, you do for Malt Whiskey. Lovely. Adrienne Jenkins

Whisky - now that's what you call a subject for a lens. You've covered the subject beautifully! I don't drink much nowadays but I do enjoy a single malt.

I had a visitor and asked if he'd like a glass. "Sure," he said, "With cola please." Aaaagh! He got his drink out of the supermarket whisky bottle I also had.

    Mike.

    Beautiful job on this lens!
  • OhMe Jan 9, 2009 @ 3:03 pm | delete
My dad would not drink malt liquor or blended whiskey. Only drank straight bourbon whiskey that he called "that sweet singing bird". You did a great job on this lens. Here's to you and yours.

Here's to an excellent lens on my favorite alcoholic refreshment. What a great job you did. Well researched, educational and very informative. 5* and favored.

    Hi there!
Excellent page! made me thirsty for a wee drop!

Yes, single malts are expensive, but they're usually worth every penny.

I have a lens on Scotch whiskey as well, nothing to match this page but merely to encourage people to let me know what their favorite malt is. Feel free to check it out and let me know more about your favorite malt :-)

    Thanks a bunch!
    Cheers
    Suresh

  • AndyPo Nov 5, 2008 @ 5:41 pm | delete
Excellent lens. I rarely drink whisky, but when I do I like a single malt.
  • BigJim Nov 3, 2008 @ 9:43 am | delete
Still love this lens. Do you have any openings for taste testers?!! I'm officially applying.
  • RyanRE Oct 11, 2008 @ 4:01 pm | delete
Great lens! I love whiskey, although I usually drink a straight bourbon whiskey instead of a single malt scotch because I enjoy the flavor and it is less expensive. ***** to ya!

I am a Glenfiddich man myself. Excellent resource and links. Will be sharing this page with friends.
  • NorDac Aug 15, 2008 @ 12:14 am | delete
Nice lens. I've only had a good scotch once and I don't know what it was. (I usually buy the cheap stuff)

I do like a good sipping whiskey at times, I'm going to mark this page down for the next time I decide to buy a bottle.
  • Gordon_Hamilton Jun 3, 2008 @ 5:17 am | delete
Absolutely outstanding. Had I not already been convinced of the merits of my national drink, I certainly would be now. You may want to check out Ardbeg 17 year old - it is destined to become one of the rarest of them all in years to come!

    Slainte mhath!

Sorry Raphael, I did a search for Premiers Choice and the only place I could find it was in a supposedly 'luxury' gift hamper, suggesting that it is not in fgact a single malt, but a blended malt made specifically for this gift hamper company. I strongly suggest you try a real single malt soon!
  • Raphael C. Wang Jan 11, 2008 @ 4:41 am | delete
On top of all of these, I'd love PREMIERS CHOICE better and unfortunately it's not listed in here...

Great Lens, and I got some questions answered I had myself, like where to put a lens on 'beverages' (beer)? I sometimes have a hard time navigating for answers in this sea...I know it is all here, and everyone is so nice... i just have ink in my eyes! and very fun guest book title!
