Mandy Moore, Jazz and Contemporary Dance Choreographer

Mandy Moore has been choreographing creative and interesting jazz and contemporary dances on "So You Think You Can Dance" (SYTYCD) since Season Two. She has also appeared as a guest judge during Season Four. Mandy earned an Emmy Nomination in Season Three for her Contemporary "Table" Routine performed by Neil and Sabre.

This lens is part of a series including the choreographers from the Fox Reality Show SYTYCD. I'm a huge dance fan, and addicted to Reality TV. I've really admired the choreography on the show and for the first five seasons before I started creating lenses about SYTYCD, I wondered, "Where did these great choreographers come from?"

So the purpose of this series of lenses is to provide a short biography of each choreographer, and to remind you of their work on the show.

Progressions with Mandy Moore is an instructional program that includes four separate combinations of movement meant to travel across the floor, using the length of the studio. Each innovative combination emphasizes a different element of jazz technique: direction change, weight change, level change and use of space. All the combinations are broken down into a beginning, intermediate and advanced version as Mandy pinpoints key concepts having to do with body line, alignment, and dynamics. Feed your technique and dance vocabulary with this unique and essential program designed by choreographer and teacher, Mandy Moore.

I thought its Mandy Moore the singer. I've watched a few episodes of SYTYCD, I thought the contestants choreograph themselves. Great lens.

We saw much less of Mandy's choreography this past season, and I have to say, I missed her work.
